Poison still worth it ? / fencer template

Hey, i found some posts about poison beign not very usefull now as a pvp skill;
Is it true, why ? Even when cure potions work like they do u can still spam poisoning till the fight is over (having 100% skill and applying poison in-battle).

Second question, what about fencer template ?

Healing
Poisoning
Resisting spells
Focus

This is what i have for now (no gear so focus on), and before im gonna train poisoning i rather ask lol
