[Magery] Poison Mage

Hi Guys,

I'm considering making a Poison mage. I currently have 120 magery on my mage and would bring poisoning up to 80 to get the 200 total for deadly poison.

What I'm wondering is can this be effective PvM? If you've tried a poison mage where did it work best?

Yes, the 200 combined rule of thumb applies to magery/poison. I've seen Nox Mages do pretty good at champ spawns laying down poison fields, ev's, EQ, and meteor swarms. With pub 57 and the new scrolls I guess the name of the game is kill as much as you can the fastest for best results.

For PvM, I don't think there's any substitution for a necro/weaver mage. Poison fields are nice for low level spawn, but in the long run, the necro will be more powerful.

So, I actually tired it out and it wasn't bad but the necro/weaver mage was better for me. The big issue I found was that you need to be a bit of a specialist when poisoning, where the necro weaver can pretty much fight any where.
