I suppose the problem are the ingots to fill the pof-bods. Some specialists do have enough of the bods but lack the ingots to fill. Thats the problem with the script-miners. First they ruined and flooded the market with ingots and now, when it looks like they are mostly gone, there are not enough (honest&selling) miners left. For those that earn rl money with UO, Atlantic could still be profitable enough to do buisiness there. So I guess Atl has a far bigger supply of ingots then EU has.
Well, people are still filling BODs to get the high end hammers as far as I know - at least thats what I'm doing. The cost of bribes is just going to go up so it's better to do hammers now in these early stages and bribe for POF bods later on

PoF costs under 10k to get now, and that's including the bribe from Iron to DC!
So I was expecting it to be at 20k on vendors. But it looks like it's not gonna happen anytime soon, so now I just get my own and I will never buy it from any vendor again hehe
80-120/140 gp per ingot dc/shadow seems to be a normal price atm on EU. I havent played around with bribing, but from what I ve read. the upgrades are somewhat random. You get an improvement of 1-3 colours on your first bribe on a single bod. That way you can easily miss the range for pof-bods.
You can miss... but usually you don't. And when you miss you get low-end runic hammer so you don't lose money you spent on bribes.
It all comes down to how much you value your time. If you think that plugging away at a mountain for an hour to get the amount of ore you need saves you a few 100k then so be it. I can make 30 mill in the same amount of time. So for me its more worth my while to pay some one else to do the job for me while I spend my time earning the big bucks.

Yes, time is the most valuable resource. I can get 1m per hour farming ingredients so crafting PoF is not interesting for me. But for new players crafting PoF and selling it per 80k should be a good way to get money (500k per hour). Also it's important that you needn't spend tens of mil for equipment and weeks to train skill for that. All what you need is 90 Blacksmith.

With 0.1 Blacksmithing you get 3 Iron BODs per day per char when you log in. It takes 3 seconds.
Bribe the Blacksmith to upgrade them. Just keep the 20 Except DC or 10/15 Except Shadow. Another 3 seconds.
Store them in a bodbook and fill them with your smith when you need PoF. How long does it take to fill ONE small bod? 30 seconds?
Clearly the whole process takes under 1 Minute for a bottle of PoF. Depending how much you pay the ingots, you still save 50k-100k for that minute of hard work There is nothing you can do in the game that can automatically earn you that kind of money in under a minute.

If you do 10 in a row you would need to recall to several blacksmiths to upgrade them, so you would loose time. Ultimately supply and demand will determine the price as always - if enough people are willing to make enough PoF to satisfy every buyer's needs, all the time, and sell it at 80k, that will become the standard price in fairly short order. If buyers are prepared to spend time shopping around and potentially wait a few days for vendors to be restocked, that can also drive the price down. But for a commodity such as PoF which is always in demand, and with plenty of impatient players, most crafters can still sell plenty at a higher price, so why would they unnecessarily deprive themselves of income?
Rather than complaining about the price, if you think it should be lower, go out and flood the market and drive it down yourself - it's the reverse of buying up everyone else's stock to artificially inflate the price, and it's pretty much the only way to bring about change of this nature

I don't complain, as a matter of fact I don't really care how much people will pay, it's their problem I'm just happy that I don't have to buy them anymore hehe

By the way it takes 7 seconds to kill a lesser hiryu and 1 sec to use a harvester's blade on its corpse. So I can get 3600/8 * 60 = 27k leather per hour. Right?
Well, let's count.
It takes 15 sec to log on, 10 sec to get to a NPC smith, 15 sec to get 3 BODs, 10 sec to get back to home, 10 sec to come to the proper chest, 15 sec to put BODs in the proper books and 10 sec to log out.
The total is 85 sec.
At average you need 3 bribes: norm iron 15 -> norm dull 15 -> norm shadow 15 -> exc shadow 15 or norm copper 15 or norm shadow 20.
It takes 10 sec to bribe one time: right-click, wait for menu, left-click, wait for answer, draw the BOD, wait for its appiarance in your backpack, check its properties.
One NPC don't bribe you 9 BODs so you have to move to another NPC and probably to another town.
The total is 40 sec.
And only one of five BODs will be exceptional. So you need (85 + 40) * 5 = 10 mins to get 3 exceptional BODs.
You need put ingots in your backpack, get to a forge, open blacksmith menu, switch to proper ingot color, find item you need, set number you need. Then it takes about 2 sec per item to craft them and atleast 1 sec per item to combine (because you need to wait for answer from server after each click).
I took me about 75 minutes to fill 37 small BODs. 2 mins per BOD.
The total is over 5 min per PoF. And since you fill only exceptionals BODs you can craft very limited amount of POFs per day.
I started with 49 Iron Normal BODs. It took me over 2 hours for bribing and over 1 hour for crafting to get 37 filled 90% PoF BODs (about 33 POF) and 11 empty low-end runic BODs.
Add time to buy ingots and you will get 4 hours for 32 POF = 8 POFs per hour. My be the next time I could do it faster. So I count I can do 8-10 POFs per hour.

But 2 hours for bribing 49 bods is WAY too much. If you do it when you collect them (instead of accumulating them) you don't have to move to another npc.
