Hey all it's the OP,

Thanks for the responses. Since it's illegal I'm not going to lure anymore :-( It stinks that there is nothing one can really do when someone steals a kill other than look for another place. It's like letting the jerk win. I totally agree that no one owns an area, but unless it's a boss or other difficult kill, no one should jump in on a monster without asking. Believe me if I could get ToT in Fel I so would!

Let me ask you guys one more thing, which I know will make me seem even more of a jerk, but keep in mind it's all retaliation! The same guy as before came back the following day and said, "HA HA" as he killed creatures my pet was trying to kill. I lured two succubi on him and he died (HA HA indeed). Then I kept up energy fields at the enterance to the room with his body until his body disappeared so he would lose any minors he got (Yes I know, I'm a *******). Is what I did with the energy fields illegal?

You folks are way more knowledgeable than I am and I really do appreciate the responses. I just hate it, in UO and RL, when people act inconsiderately and benefit from it.

Thanks again,
Me
Hmm, it's only illegal if you are blocking the only entrance/exit.

But illegal or not...good job at getting back at him :D

The part of this thread that disturbs me are the number of folks that are so immensely gratified by someone sinking to the same level as the so-called offender. Its as if they feel no matter the means, as long as you outwit the other guy you did good. As long as the 'perceived' good triumphs over the 'perceived' evil it doesn't matter how it was done.

Its vigilante justice folks and it makes you as bad or worse than the other guy.

Sorry your fields did nothing. Only stops yourself, your guild mates and your pets and monsters. Others can freely pass to and fro bro. (in trammel.. yeah yeah i know it does in felucca )

At least you now see that the "so-called offender" has sunk to a low level. If you understand that you shouldn't "help" others to finish their mobs, this thread is a victory.
Otherwise, we all agree that two wrongs don't make a right. We're just comprehensive of the wrath triggered by the frustration.

So just an advice for the OP : don't try to make justice by yourself in Trammel. You first act is understandable, but now you know it's illegal, don't do it or you'll become worse than the jerks that annoy you.

Ok. so you admit that you now know that luring is illegal, yet you state that you did it again.

Then you put up fields with the intent of prohibiting him to access his corpse and retrieve his belongings, say that you're a *******, and then ask if the fields are illegal? Gota a problem with morals?

Looks like you're contradicting yourself. I think you should stop now.

Yeah, to my mind (as we've discussed, my mind != the ToS), the luring was OK, but stone walls/fields/whatever to prevent him from getting back to his corpse is way less cool, and while I doubt you'll realistically get more than a warning for luring (unless you're doing it repeatedly), there's a good chance you'll get imprisoned or even banned for blocking someone else's access to their corpse.

I'm always an advocate of putting events like this, that don't have any specific importance to the story line(ie: diversions) also in felucca so a few advantages appear. IE:Major tot area in trammel ruleset. Much smaller tot area in fel.

1)Trammel players won't feel like PKs are the ones bothering them in trammel.
2)PvPers can fight to their hearts content for something else for a while(ie: one more place to expand the great war for supremacy between the clans and guilds)
3)Players can completely avoid grief play as player justice is applicable in the fel area.
4)PvPers don't feel forced into dealing with trammel based problems. It's frustrating to have people lure half the dojo spawn on you just after server up because nobody is there yet besides you and one idiot with no ability to just kill the toolbox. No being forced into ignoring characters (a big problem for pvpers to use this feature) because you can just kill them and make them say o0o0o0o.

Well...the fields do not really block the person from their corpse, they just keep the monsters near his corpse so he would have to kill them in order to get his body. I am pretty sure...that is not illegal since you can not field players in tram, only monsters, but it may be considered luring since the intent is to get the player killed...so not sure.

You can't prove intent on something like that. the guy just has to say he was trying to stop the mobs from being lured away by the griefer.

Thats why all events should be in fel. It would solve alot of problems. My feelings are that the strongest should get the spot. Iam way faster than a super dragon and hit a demon with 2 chain lightings and drop it. I ve chased a few people out of my fav. spot and I ve left cause and archer was beating me to every drop.
I could not possibly agree with you more, if they had a trammel and feluccia tokuno islands, with certain rares only available in the fel ruleset then no one would squabble about anything. Not to mention it would give people a place to go if all the good tok spots are taken.
