One thing that many don't understand is that audio playback can be a major cause of lag in all kinds of applications. One way of being able to tweak your computer to limit the effects of lag caused by the playback of audio files, is to be able to tweak the audio buffer size. Now I believe this is application specific, I can't change it in the DirectSound configuration options, as far as I know. It would be nice if this could be added to the sound configuration options in the Enhanced Client.
