I placed a Keep on my account for my husband to give to him for his birthday. I co-owned him to the Keep and he moved his stuff in and drooped his house. He took my house to hold it, so I would not lose my spot.

In 7 days how do we trade houses, so I have mine back and he can take full ownership of the Keep?

If I give him the Keep, will the 7 day rule come it to play so that I will not be able to get my house back from him?

Will we need to reactivate one of our older accounts to hold My house for another 7 days.

If we re-open the older account will it be subject to the 15 day rule since its not a newly created accounts? It's 7 years old.

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

First I would trade the keep to him then have him give you your house back. And you can open your old account and put it on there if it would make you feel better. I had to do that with one of my old ones a couple of weeks ago so I know you can. As long as you have characters already on there.

So your saying that if I give him the Keep, I can take my house right back form him?
Or will I be blocked form taking a house for 7 days since I traded my him the Keep?

After the timer runs out for you as far as house placement goes then your free to trade him the Keep and get your house back from him.... And there should be NO troubles at all then.

Hi Millie,
Sorry for your troubles -it really is a pain. They should let you just trade houses. But, remember there's a 15 day waiting period for new players to place houses so I think you can trade to new chars, but they cannot place. Just a reminder so you don't pay and get stuck!

Cheers!

Because of timers you have to give the condemened house to a third account and that account will have to transfer it back to you.

Yes.

Not for another 7 days. Once you trade the condemned house to another account they can trade it right back to you as you then don't own a house. Whatever house is on that account (of the person you traded to) then becomes condemned.

If we re-open the older account will it be subject to the 15 day rule since its not a newly created accounts? It's 7 years old.
As far as I know, it goes off of a character age, so as long as you have had that character created for more than 15 days there should not be an issue.

The other work around (although not the best) is to drop the condemned house and have the account that currently does not have a house place over the dropped house. You have to drop the condemned house, but as soon as its dropped the houseless account should be able to place.

If I am reading it right the keep is on the same account as the old house. That means even if you do trade the keep to him the old house is still condemned. The only way to get that house from being condemned is to demolish it and replace or trade it to a third account that can then trade it right back to you. If you do not own a house on an account there are no timers at all involved for placing a house (except if you are trying to place where there was an idoc or you tried to place to many times or your character is under 15 days).

In short, all these stupid rules were put in place to stop scripters and idoc farmers from being able to place and sell accounts. The result is that the normal player still is clueless (not implying you are clueless as an insult) about the actual rules that let them keep their houses, but the scripters and idoc farmers already have work arounds in place.

For example, I'm pretty sure this isn't an actual exploit, so I'll feel safe in posting it here. If you have a few friends keep trying to place at an idoc they can eventually place and cancel that placement thereby not condemning their own house. The houseless account can then place just as soon as they get the ok that it is ok to place. That means they don't have to wait on their own tool cool down and they can place the house as soon as the IDOC timer runs out.

I really wish EA would stop trying to combat scripters by changing game design. The scripters always get around it because they are the most adapt at changing their play style. If you are going to go after scripters then do something unique like filing against the company making the third party programs in federal court. When the programs no longer exist then the only scripters left will be running their own programs, and those are the ones that should truely be banned.
