I want to have fun with this new expasion and can't fire any canon because anytime i want to buy salpeter it is out!

I payed for that Addon 30$ for both accounts and cant use it right, 60% of the addon is unusable atm, sorry for this hard words but it is true.

I was about to post the same thing..out of the 7 or 8 hours I have played this so far over half of that was just waiting for Saltpeter to spawn...once it did i took the 999 that spawned, made around 20 charges, and 20 fuses, fought a pirate, used almost all of the gunpowder I had made, and had to run back and sit and wait for it to respawn......still waiting....

Goodluck, Saying that will likely result in you being eaten alive. It was reported.

And in beta the vendor used different rules. Spawned 500 immediatley and got more expensive aevery 1000 sold.

Hard to really test anything when they don't show it correctly, though players warned them too that Salpeter would be rare.

I expected that some rarity was game design, but 2 vendors per shard is a bit harsh for the addicted.

Course thats why there is salt peter to begin with, otherwise it could just be powder and be done with it.

Something needs to be done. I thought they were handling it yesterday.

It doesn't help much now, but I suspect this will be sorted out in a few days. I suspect there's a fair bit of hoarding going on right now. We may need more sources in the near future -- especially if it follows the reagent model on the marketplace -- but I think there are enough people buying 999 at a time now whether they need it or not that we'll eventually have enough of the stuff on most shards.

ah and then mesanna jumps in saying she put a few more alchemist on "ALL" shards .... quess she cant count shards ... europa still has only one alchemist.

ah yes why supporting europa ... its ok that the european pay much more as monthly fee than the rest ... so why supporting them?

I reported it quite emphatically. As did a number of other people. In the beta it was spawning as a commodity, like bottles do, and at one point was over 600gp per. It was suggested (by Petra) that it should spawn like regs, and be available on ALL alchemist/reg vendors on the shards. Clearly, despite a number of folks posting to agree with this, only half of it entered the heads of the devs.

Oh, and we still haven't got any extra alchemists at the emporium on Europa. I'm not even gonna start on that one.

This was the a major issue that was brought up again and again from day one in beta. And here we are in full release and not only have they not fixed this game play issue, they made it worse. Before the price was the issue but at least you could get as much as you needed if you were willing to pay the price. Now your choices are not to use it at all taking the cannons out of the game for you, or wait for hours and hours and hope you beat someone at buying a small amount that will last you maybe one run.

Agree, but I think the coders are trying to do a good job, but Cal is the worst Project manager/producer this game has ever seen.

im so glad i didnt bother with this high seas nonsense. if i paid for the expansion and couldnt even use the main focus of the expansion - sailing ships around, engaging pirates with cannons, etc - i'd probably be pretty ticked.

I guess I got lucky last night. I didn't get near the saltpeter that I would need to fully outfit each cannon with enough charges to fire a couple salvos, but I did notice it wasn't very expensive, and it didn't seem to take so long to refresh.

I'll be checking it out again in the next couple of days.

is it really so hard to make salpter either craftable or an endless resource in vendors?

this booster could be very nice but without salpeter its not worth

Not on Europa they haven't, unless they did it after I went round and checked this morning. There's a few new ones on the Tram Emporium, that's it. And those are camped, which is to be expected.

I could be wrong, but I've seen no evidence that the good folks of Lake Austin have more than the one NPC on each facet selling it. We have one seller and a bunch of campers trying to get it.

I found some Saltpeter! Go to Atlantic on a player vendor in Luna for the basement bargain price of 10k for a stack of 100..... Reminds me of the old days camping for regs at the mage shops then marking them all up for profit.
