I spent about an hour or more working on a book in the enhanced client. I'm a perfectionist, so i'm trying to get the exact spaces so everything looks centered and uniform.

After finishing the book I looked it over and everything looked perfect, so, I put a leaf on it. As soon as I put the leaf on it, all the text changed. The book wasn't even readable. There was text stacked on the bottom not even in the book.

I tried to figure out what the problem was because I had used an old book that had 40 pages and copied it into a new, gargish book that had 201 pages but now the gargish book was showing 40 pages. So, I was wondering, maybe it's just really bugged because I copied it from a different type of book.

So, I tried again, this time without copying and the same thing happened. So, now i've got to the point, where I realize, the gargish book in the enhanced client or any other book are totally useless. So, I went back into the 2d client so I could write the book and the way the book comes out, it's like i'm using a crayon on construction paper. It just looks like crap.

Now, in the 2d client you get this really crappy book, that's like 20 characters across by 8 lines down and in the enhanced client you get these really wonderful books that allow for, let's just say, 100 characters across by like 25 down, something like that but if you leaf the book, it reverts back to the 2d client book making it unreadable and useless.

Now, I could go on about all the problems with the text and all that other stuff but it should be quite easy to design a simple book and I don't understand why it hasn't been done yet.

Why can't they take the 3d format and the 2d look or graphic, paste the graphic on it, and make both clients identical with some minor tweaking to the size of the graphic? I think it's just pathetic that you have to switch clients to write a book.

Also, can you please add scrolls? The same as a book except for it looks like a scroll and when you click it open, it looks like an unrolled parchment with a slide bar on the right side and maybe give us maybe equal to the books, maybe something like 100 lines, 1,000 lines, 2,000 lines. Thanks.

One thing you should note -- and it's the same whether you use the CC or the EC -- whatever "status" is on your book will be copied to the new book. Thus if you copy a 40-page purple book into a 20-page brown book, that brown book will now be a 40-page book. Likewise, if you copy a 20-page brown book into a 200-page gargish book, that book will now be a 20-page book.

In addition, if the brown book you copy is a "newbie" book that doesn't drop to your corpse AND that you can't -- because of this -- lock down, if you copy it to any other book, that new book will also be one you cannot lock down.

All this copying, of course, by the inscription skill.

Once they get the EC books done right (first step is making them look like a book instead of a silly interface box), the ability to copy and paste text to and from them is a good thing.

One thing I'd also recommend is writing your books in Notepad, Wordpad, or some other text editor first, and then copying and pasting them into either client (you can set up a paste macro in the CC) a little at a time (usually no more than 3-4 paragraphs, you get used to it) that way you decide to change book size in the future, you've at least got the original text to work with rather than the way the current inscription skill works.
