Please Fix Champ Spawn Cams!!!

I am curious to know when the development team plans on really fixing the champ spawn cams. These cams affect everyone’s game play by allowing guilds, mostly pk guilds to watch champs spawns unattended. These cams can be a ghost or live player, the cam then uses UO Auto map to relay the number of candles on the altar, the number of people around and the guild the people are from. These scripts are normally run around the clock, and are sometimes even run by people who receive cash for doing this.

I propose a solution to this problem. Make it so you cannot time out in a fel dungeon or T2A. Make the PK guilds physically scout these spawns. The developers are trying to bring back pvp by bringing forth the changes to spawns in this publish, but the same problem is around that killed fel to begin with. Please put a stop to unattended cams monopolizing fel champ spawns.

I completely agree. I have given up on Felucca champ spawns, as there ALWAYS are ghost cams, and when you want to leave through the star room, some [censored] cheater guild also known for their speed hacks casts a wall of stone on the teleporter, so you cannot get out.

My proposal to solve this:
Either hire a few more GMs and ban their asses, or remove powerscrolls from Felucca altogether and move them to Trammel Camp Spawns. There's no reason to reward such antisocial subjects, who do not even have a good PvP skill, but only win by bending and breaking game rules.

They didn't even last half a day and have been disabled most of the time since then. Even the most dedicated will eventually give up.

I don't think its possible but you could explain more on how to disable them, to the point they don't notice.

Honestly though why is it our job anyways to stop cheaters. Is it not up to the GMs and developers to give us a game that is enjoyable and without having to deal with cheaters, instead of giving us a spell that boots ghost which could even be used for griefers.

Our cam disabling template was:
Magery, GM SS, GM nerco, GM detect hidden, GM tracking, GM stealth/hiding. That way you can get the ghost cams and stealth bots.

First you go around and find the cams. If they are alive, you need to track and kill them. If they are dead just move to step 2: Exorcism.

If you kill live cams you need to wait until they show up again in order to exorcise. Otherwise you can remove them as soon as they show up.

They will definitely notice you doing it, but if you disable several cams at once they will have to keep scouting. People who use cams usual hate scouting. So take some down, wait a bit and then you will have a chance to do your spawn without being crashed.

If you let someone cam your spawn it is entirely the spawners fault for not putting in the effort to clean it up. This is completely preventable by putting in a bit of effort and will frustrate the cammers to no end.

doesn't the cam need to be within a certain radius of the alter to be able to exorcise it. ?

lol i have been PKing trammies all day, without the use of the cams run through any of the spawns and you will find loads of trammies, trying to get their scrolls lol ive made 65 mill so far in the past couple of days from selling scrolls not bad for a few hours work.
most of them see a red player and they run off even when its odds of 7 - 1.

if your so annoyed about it why not just stick to illish spawns,

JC -- can you clarify how you find the cams? My char is a necro and can both spirit speak and exorcise.

Seems like finding live hidden cams would just require some reveal spells cast around the altar. Maybe another method would be to cast earthquake a few times to ensure anything on the screen has taken over 120 points of damage (i.e. to kill someone sitting there hidden).

In order to remove the ghost cams, is all I need to do head to the altar, use spirit speak, and then cast exorcism? Is there more to it? I've never used exorcism or spirit speak to find ghosts. Thanks!

If you try to reveal by random chance, it is going to be frustrating. Tracking lets you cover the entire area pretty much. You need to track for all 3 forms (player, animal and monster).

You don't need to use Spirit Speak. It is just necessary for the Exorcism spell to work. With GM Spirit Speak (which is required) you see ghosts automatically.

I agree with Hawkeye Pike that Powerscrolls should be made available to Trammel. I've already ranted in another thread so I won't do that again here.

That...or they change the rules about how Powerscrolls are dropped. Only the challenger and those in his party/guild are eligible to receive powerscrolls.


The jerks who come in after the boss has spawn and killed off the players who progressed the entire spawn shouldn't be able to get squat..because they didn't do squat except kill those who did all the hard work.

I don't know if it is a bug or not, but it seems that you can get a scroll right now even if you don't hit the champ you just have had to work the spawn from first level.

Well, there is the virtue that lets you "protect" someone which should give you some scrolls without doing anything.

You can get 105´s as you work the spawn randomly,if you mean 120´s without hiting champ at all then its indeed strange

no, there is a bug. if you work a spawn but get raided and are unable to hit the champ, you are supposed to be able to get a new deco item or replica if you hang around hidden a little ways off or whatever. the bug is you can also get powerscrolls by doing this.

I would tend to think that if they already know about this than something in the future will be done...Then we can sit back and hear B@$%^ing about how their account was suspended.,,Or better yet just delete that char completely Because they cheated..Besides How good can they really be if they can't even do the spawn them selfs?
