Baja has a couple player-run towns. Historically, it had several.

Currently Active: The Kingdom of Dawn, the Village of Scythe, the Village of Hearthfire Haven, the Village of Golden, and Horseshoe Island.

Historical: Haven, Avalon, the Borderlands, Fairhaven, Ravenshire, Newcastle, Heaven's Forge, Shadowfel, New Grimswind, Gravewater Shores, Shadowlight, Valderia, Old Scythe, Old Lumaria, and New Lumaria.

Edit: I just saw UOHerald and understand your question a little bit more. Baja has a different 'recognition' system; so I wouldn't anticipate seeing one of ours featured.

EM Seppo and EM Crysania could best answer questions regarding player run towns. You can ask them on their website goldenbrewtavern.com or on the Stratics Baja Event Moderator's Discussion Forum.

On the EM Discussion forum, EM Seppo has stated:
1) There is no PRT recognition system on Baja. However, individual player houses or townships may be "rewarded" for their actions in an event. Every time you register your house/town for an event, you are agreeing to turning it into a hot spot. For example, war against Casca and Gargoyle vs. Humans.

2) Generally speaking, every reward you get from event moderator program on Baja requires you to participate in the events and plot lines created by myself or EM Crysania.

We firmly believe that this is the best way forward and have no plans to replicate the PRT system of some of the other shards.

The Baja Roleplayers Alliance had this discussion a couple months ago; when the system was first being implemented on Chesapeake and Mesanna had suggested that it might be implemented on other shards should it be successful there.

"Kingdom & Village Recognition" by WarderDragon

Lord Gareth of Chesapeake (one of the major masterminds behind the Chesapeake Town Recognition System) contributed to our discussion as well.

While I think we can all agree that it would be wonderful if the Event Moderator Crew added some flavor and decoration to some of our historical player-run towns and cities (in much the same way the Seer program once did); the meager cities and kingdoms of Baja would be hard pressed to fulfill the same requirements set for the larger shards such as Chesapeake and Atlantic (i.e. the last I checked, a Kingdom was something like fourty unique buildings).

The Kingdom of Dawn for instance has always been recognized as 'a Kingdom'; even being named such during an UO.com Spotlight in 2001. But today it would be difficult to maintain the thirty or fourty buildings necessary to be named a 'Kingdom.' We had to ask ourselves; "...do we really want the event moderator team determining who has a right to be considered a Village or Kingdom? Or should that be the domain of the players who established many of these enclaves over a decade ago?"

Chesapeake also has encountered another problem. While the system was put in place to recognize Guilds and Townships that have long existed; the system is now being used by those who wish for freebies from the event moderator crew. I have my buddies move in next to me, name it NoObIeToWn; now give me a banner.

It is a good system. Don't get me wrong. I would like to see some of this implemented on our shard. But it needs to be tailored for our shard; otherwise it'll just be a slap in the face to those villages and townships who have been around since pre-Trammel on the virtue of comradery, community, and sheer will alone.

While one can never be certain in the Dark World of Felucca, Wildstar of the Kingdom of Dawn loves to provide tours of the player-townships of Dawn and Avalon. Just let her know and I'm sure she'll be more than happy to show you around.

Most of Cartel are busy in other areas and don't actively sit around on Horseshoe Island although we call it home. But yes, if you visit, it will probably be a case of shoot first, ask questions later.
