This really is worthy of it's own thread. This is something that people have been asking for in the EC since day 1. I can't count the number of times I've heard or read some pvp'r ask the question, can you bind your mouse wheel to last target like you can with UO Assist?

Well now you can. If you haven't checked out Pinco's UI yet, I would highly recommend that you do so. It may seem like a small thing, and it only took him a few hours to do it, but this is a major advance, not only for his UI, but for the enhanced client in general.

So, I am feeling a little dumb. I am sure this is way cool, but I don't understand what this change does yet. Hopefully you all can enlighten me as I really want to get the most out of the EC and Pincos.

I have had the mouse wheel on last target and target self for months in EC, all my pet healing macros are set to target stored so they seemed to work okay. Also, I do pvp some on my mystic mage and his spells are set to Cursor, then I move the mouse wheel to do last target. It has seemed to work great for awhile now.

Now this morning I've decided to load up the new version 3.8(ty pinco). I kinda thought there would be a new targeting option under current in the hotbar spells but didn't see it there.

Then I checked in User settings/mouse where you can set the mouse to cursor target last and cursor target self. but no change there.

I see it in the actions menu but when I drag it to a hotbar I can't set the mouse wheel as a hotkey. Am I on the right track thinking to remake all my hotbar offensive spells into macros with smart last target?

So I guess I have 2 questions about this new feature.

1. how are you binding it to the Mouse wheel?

2. I understand how this would work for the pet healing macros, to just use one set and have it remember the pet you just targeted. That is cool. What I don't understand is how this helps pvp targeting and mouse wheel last targets

the only way to set an hotkey to the mouse wheel is using external program that manages the mouse buttons. I suggest you to use x-mouse button, is free and is a very good tool ;)

Ya, I have a programmable mouse, and sometimes I forget that not everyone else does. So you would need to create a macro with the action, and bind it to a key or key combination, then using your mouse software, or osmething like x-mouse, bind it to your mouse wheel.

So why is this so cool? There is a big difference between what this action does, and what the default targeting options in the EC do. All the targeting options in the EC cycle through targets. Which is fine and useful for certain things. You can cycle through hostiles, friendlies, etc.

But what this action does is something none of the targeting options in the EC do, it goes back to your last target. This is something that pvp'rs have been asking for in the EC for a very long time. To be honest, I don't exactly know why, because I don't target my spells that way, but most of the high level mages do.

For me personally this is extremely useful because it allows me to essentially have multiple targets. I can heal my pet using Pinco's excellent pet targeting actions, and have the macro return to my last target so I can cast offensive spells at it. So it allows me to vet my pets, and cast offensive spells at the target my pets are fighting at the same time.

I'm a bit confused on this too. I've had my mouse wheel, not a programmable mouse BTW, set to 'cursor target self' and 'cursor target last' since it was added to the EC. I also have Cursor Target Queuing turned on as well.

I have UOAssist on all my accounts and used those features on my mouse wheel in both PvM and PvP for years.

I honestly haven't discovered a difference between the Classic Client with UOA or the EC. I cast a spell and target something, with the spell set to "cursor" I cast the spell again and use my mouse wheel to "target last" and it works without fail. I don't see how this isn't working for some people.

my new smart previous target will follow exactly your target sequence and not a pre-defined client sequence...
