the entire idea of the focus is to enforce teamplay for that skill, which is why it uses a "focus" which needs multiple players (though it's essentially "broken" by use of joat) instead of a secondary skill. That's the tradeoff, you essentially get a "free" 120 skill points as it would be on other skills for your working together with others.
They should just tweak it so that instead of a focus it can also use your Eval skill, that way people who don't play in a group to get the focus can still get the poewr boost but it brings the skill cost in line with all the other casting schools.
Hogwash. A spellweaver with a max-level focus is either overpowered or not. What he had to do in order to get that focus doesn't really matter. The developers could just give all spellweavers a max-level focus upon login, and as long as the rest of us all conspired to keep it a secret from you, how would you even know anything had changed?
"I sense a disturbance in the Force. Sure that spellweaver's spells are having the exact same effects as always, but... I sense that he didn't go through enough inconvenience yet today. Oh my god they got rid of Arcane Circle didn't they?!"
No. The whole idea behind Arcane Circle is nonsense anyway. It's not encouraging "social interaction" or anything. No one is staying subscribed to UO because of all the really great friends they met casting Arcane Circle. It's pointless.
And crying about how Luna shouldn't have a place to cast it is even more pointless. Brit bank is dead, deal with it, and put the conveniences where they're actually convenient.
