Pet stat question

Sorry I could not find the answer to this and I have never played a tamer. Just bonded one of the vollems and wanted to know what I need to do to see its stats? Do I need to have/use animal lore? Thanks in advance.

If you're a human or have a human character, jack of all trades animal lore is enough.

Or if you have a character with 10 extra skill points available, then just buy 10 points in the skill. It will take a few tries, but you'll get the stat/skill information that you need.
