Pet Magery

I've noticed pets with less than mediocre magery, 30-80 casting flame strike. I know a pet's magery is important... but why? Is it going to gain higher damage spells once it's magery/EI is higher?

Just curious what the difference is between 30 and 100 magery if it's casting the same spells at all levels.

I know it's a newbish question but i'd like to know

I believe the magery affects the time in between casting spells (and firebreath) and not necessarily the range of spells that it casts.

On my dread mare thats GM magery it casts spells one after the other. ON my other one its trained to 75, and it's a noticeable difference.
