Personal Attendant handling problems

Hi all,

I just received a personal attendant, and I placed him at my house and set him up to greet visitors. However, he doesn't greet visitors. I left him standing there a few days anyway.

Now, today I died twice, and after my second death, the personal attendant just appeared beside me for about 2 seconds and vanished again. Instead, I found a personal attendant deed in my backpack. I thought that somehow my attendant must have teleported to me, but when I returned to my house, I still saw him standing where I had left him.

Do I have 2 attendants now? Did I accidentally dupe it? Is there a know bug? I remember another player had problems with his attendant, too, a few weeks ago.

Any help would be appreciated!

(P.S. I couldn't sell my extra attendant deed, as it is bound to my character. So no harm will be done with this "dupe".)

The attendant has a menu you can access when you click them. Make sure you allow them to follow you until they are placed "just so" and facing the right way. Then select the menu option that makes them stay there ... set the greeting and you should be fine.

The fact the attendant showed up then deeded sort of leads me to bellieve it was still following you somehow.

That's exactly what I did. Placed the attendant, selected from the menu NOT to follow me but stay and greet visitors, and then configured the greeting text. He remains mute.

And no, he wasn't following me. He was standing by my house for several days, when suddenly after me dying twice he showed up right beside me for a few seconds, before being converted into a deed. However, he still is standing in my house, plus I have this additional deed now.

ummm, methinks you found a bug then. I believe uobugs AT ea.com is where you should send details. And considering the latest goings on about items, AT LEAST store the additional deed until you can feel certain trashing it can be done without loss of the attendant!
