These were a great idea but they would be so much better if we could easily place items on them. Maybe im doing something wrong... I tried to drop the item on with no luck i tried to raise the item all the way up and put the pedestal under it, but i wouldn't fit. I tried putting the item in a wooden crate. Nothing worked.. Any ideas?

I'm new at all this deco stuff but I always place my item in the forward right tile of the pedestal (like you would if you were going to make it "jump" on top) and when it falls to the floor I lock it down and raise it up using an interior decorator tool. It doesn't always work but most times it does.

You can place it on the floor above the pedestal, then remove the floor and lower it down, then replace the floor.

Or if you have a friend who can help you, you can place the item you want, have them pick it up and hold it on their cursor, then place the pedestal and have your friend drop the item their holding on a spellbook and it will bounce back to the tile, where you can then lock it all down and raise as needed (using Ctrl+Shift).

I don't know if theres any easier ways.

Place the Item on the floor, lock it down. Then place the Pedastle on top and lock that down. Then raise the item by targeting its handle using CTRL SHIFT.

"I wish to place a trash barrel" - use command on the tile you want to have stuff on. Place everything in the trash. Use an axe on it. Now lock everything down, you can lock down stuff using object handles.

Another method is to place a bag you buy from the provisioners (either the small pouch or the round bag, not the backpack style bag). Now put the items in the bag and set the bag on the tile you want everything to go. Axe the bag.

It used to be you could put stuff in the backpack of a giant beetle and tell it to "drop", as in "MrsBeebers drop" would be the command. But the last couple times I tried that it didn't work.

Another method is to place a square goza mat and raise it up a few times, place the pedestal underneath and place the items on the goza mat.

There are a lot of different ways to do the same thing. Use the one you are comfortable with. If you're trying to set down your 200m unique seer rare I would not recommend the trash barrel method. It only takes losing connection to the game then being unable to get in and poof! item gone.

idea- lock item you want on pedestal down then put pedestal on top of item. use house tool to lower pedestal/raise item. Any item fits on it. Good idea?

I do this and it works almost all of the time. However, I make sure I lower the pedestal as well, because some items are several z coordinates high.

Place the item raise it up, stand on the tile with the item place a trash barrel, drop the pedestal in it, then axe the barrel. The pedestal will be on the ground "Ta Da!" this is also useful for items that just never want to go where you want like soul stone along North walls right next to each other, and Items in the corner tile of a house.

I'd like to see a feature added to place text on the plaque that sits on the front of the pedestal as well.

Or give them the attributes of statues. That way we can just use the statue engraving tool.
