Paying an account for 1 year at a time?

I am fortunate enough to get a nice year-end bonus every year. I would *like* to pay my UO accounts for an entire year when I get that bonus this year, just so I don't have to worry about it again until my next bonus rolls around. Does anyone know if there is some way to do that?

I mean, I know there is the "6 months via credit card" option - but then, in the middle of the summer when my funds are tighter, I end up having to modify my accounts to pay monthly or quarterly.

Will game time codes work? Could I purchase two 6-month game time codes and enter them immediately, back-to-back, to pay an account for a year?

And yes, this is something that the account management folks should be able to answer, but I emailed this question to them, which was unanswered, and asked on the phone once, but the service rep didn't know.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else has entered back-to-back game times codes before and if that is how I could do this. Thanks!

I honestly don't know. I do the monthly thing myself.

I think your best bet would probably be to buy game time codes and save them. Once you need to renew, just enter in the 2nd 6 month block of time and you are gold.

You should not have to go through this hassle, but since communications seem to be more valuable than gold, I'd look for an alternative to getting too much assistance from the billing folks.

I can't say for sure either I have game codes on at the moment and I would take a guess that a second one would just stack on the end of the first

I could do that, I suppose. And yeah, that's why I thought asking here might lead me to a faster solution than trying to pry the information out of the billing folks. There might be someone who has tried to enter back-to-back codes. If not, I might give that a try when I buy the codes. If it doesn't work, then I could just hang onto the other code, I presume. But with my luck, the codes 'expire' if not used within a certain time. Unlikely, but I don't know whether or not they expire. I've never used game codes for game time before.

I'm not sure for UO but I know many other games that allow you to stack game time cards. Depends on how EA billing system works on UO. I could on Warhammer Online.

I think on SWTOR they will allow you to use paypal. Just to be on the safe side until you get a 100% safe answer you could just buy the game time cards and apply them when they need renewed.

You could always call CS and request it. With the old billing system it was easy to stack the 6 month payments for a year. And I have done it before. But the new billing I am not quite sure how to do it, best to call CS and see.

I did ask them about this, but it was when I was migrating my accounts over and they had no clue. But then, their brains were likely fried by all the migration problems.

I think Zosimus has my answer, though. If you can stack Warhammer codes, then I'm sure I will be able to stack UO codes - since our accounting actually migrated over to the same system that Warhammer is on.

It will just be nice to get my accounts all paid up for the year in December - and then I'll just do this every year at bonus time and not need to fret in the middle of the year with it.

Thanks all!

Or you could buy a prepaid credit card and put enough out of your bonus to pay for your accounts +plus alittle extra just in case of a fee increase or other costs. Then just put the prepaid card in a safe place and write a note that you tape to the card - "prepaid card for one year of my UO accounts - DO NOT USE for anything else".

Wow. I probably won't do that, but, to me, at least, that's a mighty unique solution! An interesting "use" for a pre-paid credit card that I would have never thought of. I'll hang onto that idea in case something else comes up where that type of 'payment plan' might be useful!

You mite not want to pay for 12 month in adavnce at the current state of things.

No i'm not saying UO is gonna die, but yes i can see it becoming free to play at some point next year.
It dont have any other choice left.

I don't see that at all [becoming free to play at some point next year]. I was married to a computer programmer for 10 years and know more about what actually goes on behind the scenes than most - I will gladly support UO with my $$ - for a year at a time.

You could always, just buy two 6 month game codes, apply one and hold onto the other one. Or, as mentioned above, apply them both and stack a year up.

I'd suggest that just go buy two six-month game codes. If they don't stack then you should be able to simply re-apply the second code at the necessary date.

Watch out saving prepaid cards. Some cards will "expire" after 6 months or so if you don't use them!

Under this new system I'm unsure but under the old system it used to stack.

I'm reading through the BlizzCon stuff, and Blizzard is offering something new:

A new World of Warcraft "annual pass" which is a 12-month subscription, but it's billed monthly. You get a free download copy of Diablo 3 when it's released, you get a new in-game mount, and you get access to the beta of the next Warcraft expansion when it goes live.

EA/BioWare should be taking notes. Offer something similar for their MMOs, with a free copy of Dragon Age 3 or Kingdom of Amalur, etc.
