Patching is the coolest

While id rather have the entire patching system reprogrammed/overhauled/removed....

here I go.

SO! about once every 6 months i get this glorious message....

obviously i have the most recent version, its the one weve been using for years now.


Kingdom Reborn patches perfectly well, yet 2d still does not. This is my second publish now that i cant patch.

I never know why this happens, then somehow some day. i get to play UO again and everything is fine...


UO.com thinks im using windows 95 and they dont have the ftp for UOtrace, which prolly wouldnt help me anywho.....what do you guys do these days to fix it.

I really wanna hear the new music.

I turn off my firewall and all anti-virus stuff and then I can patch just fine.

You need to open up the patchlog file in the UO directory, scroll to the bottom and find out exactly what the error is. I don't know why it simply doesn't tell you in the message window.

anyhow all i noticed is that castle was in my directory but not mentioned in the config file....
I added it in there for excrement and laughter but to no avail

OK then the reason is obvious - in the past you modified the config.txt file to play custom mp3s, and now the patch is failing on that file.
As the Knowledge Base article on this subject says:

Before following either method, be absolutely sure to make backups of any files you intend to replace or change.

If you have a backup of the original config.txt, restore the backup and the patch should complete fine. If you don't have a backup of the original, I'll try to upload the config.txt file later.

Edit: contents of Music\Digital\config.txt follow. It is 1284 bytes long, there is one blank line at the end.
