Paragon Chest Question..

Okay I been hunting Exodus Overseers and Minons.. Got a few paras.

Has anyone ever seen an Overseer or Minon Chest?

(really newbie question coming)

Do all para have a chance of spawn a chest or only certain lvl paras?

(Told ya it was a newbie question .. but the only numb question is the question not asked.)

I think you can only get paragon chests from monsters that have a chance to drop a treasure map, and mongbats.

Sadly, the humble Mongbat was removed from the list of Paragon chest droppers.

I believe Greater Mongbats still drop them sometimes.

I got a wrath of the dryad from a Para Snake yesterday. Killed about 10-20 paras in an hour no chests, but the Snake was the second para i killed, right after a skeleton. HA!

Kinda unrelated but i thought maybe it would help twoard some of your questions?

Edit: That snake i killed was the little kind, that take 1 hit by a newbie to kill, only one or two by EV to kill the para.

I think the original mongbat chest actaully came from greaters before they bought name change tokens.

(as an aside: "greater" reminds me that there is a lot of design room out there to expand the creature system by adding an adjective system for creature mods ... greater mongbat / paragon mongbat / blackrock-infected mongbat / berzerker mongbat / firebreathing mongbat / ... adds a lot of spice to the game to not be entirely sure what will spawn next )

Maple you should make a thread pertaingnig to that, sounds kinda interesting. And it wouldn't take new art, and we kno how much the devs hate new art. Hehe.

You can only get chests from paragons that drop treasure maps. They added the chance for a mongbat to drop a level 0 map when the system was created. They also did a lot of work to make the creatures drop the right level map for their difficulty. They bumped the meer eternal to level 5 (level 6 paragon chest) for example but they failed to bump the meer mage from level 3 to level 4.
