Panic,cant resize in my old spot.Banner in the way?

Hi there,

I have just tried to resize my house to move it two tiles north.

But I cant place now.I forgot to remove a banner deed that was lockdowned on second floor.

Grrrr.


PAAAAAANIIIIIIICCCCC.
The one that solves my problem before its to late will get a few mille ! !

If you can't chop the deed with an axe you'll have to page a GM. If you get near the hour mark you will have to place a plot next to where your house was. If you try to "shove" the banner to the side using a small plot, make sure the character you are placing with doesn't have gold in the bank to actually place, or it may slap a 7x7 down on you.

Hi,

it seems like the banner deed was finally removed.

I havent been able to place a 18x18,only 13x18.

There are now 6 tiles between the new house and the one I placed a few days ago.

And it even more south.Are there any new rules that say that you cant be one tile wesst of other house.

Its like a fire street between the houses now.
I really hate this.

Where should I stand compred to the shadow when I place?

I think it so strange that house didnt end up where I actually tried to place it.

The cursor is much more to the south than the shadow of the house.

If you are playing in 2D make sure that your "game window" is up the top left corner of your "black space" (I hope that makes sense) If your game window is in the centre of your black space, the cursor for placing houses is always off =)

Aha,

my game widow is more in the middle.

When I try again tomorrow I will move all stuff that I have to the left in the black window so I can move game window to top left corner.

Only one walking tile between them.

Oh my GOD !

ofcourse I was abit trigger happy.
House ended up one tile north instead of two as I wanted but they are close as they can.

Tomorrow I will decide if I dare to move it one tile more north or if I will just be satisfied as it is now.


Edit:Baah,its two tiles between the houses.I guess I will try to resize again tomorrow.One tile north and one tile east.

It's one tile for walking, and then one tile is taken up by the wall of the west house. Glad it was not a disaster!

If you have KR, place in KR. I find it works alot better then 2d at placing. Sometimes I can try to place 10 time using coins to help adjust in 2D, but it's still a pain for tight spots.. in KR it's almost bang on all the time.. and when resizing in Luna, takes alot of stress off...

Easy.My smith is the same age as my account age in months.
In KR the old beardy man look like a girl in the early years of a teenager.
You are spot on regarding the stress with resizing.I almost fainted yesterday.
And when I ran into my new neighbour ingame I was about to quit the game...

Lord Teeshy told me (and everyone else ) how to place in 2D.

Np... remember I was just suggesting you use KR for placing, not suggesting you use it to play... I've placed a number of houses and find it's less stressful in KR to place then in 2D, that's all... not a plug for KR (I still use 2D).. .. youe post sounded like you were in a panic, was just trying to help you out..

The reason you might not be able to get as tight against the other house as you want it to be is a lil itty bity rock or something. Those little clutter items can be a real pain sometimes. Can usually work around them tho if there is enough space to try and get the clutter item in the center of the plot.

yes I was panicing and I m sorry that I maybe sound abit ungreatful.
Thank you for helping me out even if I hade decided to do it other way.

Shantia:There was no rock or anything I managed to resize yesterday and now its only one walking tile between the houses.
East house is one tile north compared to east house but I think I let it stay that way.At first I was thinking of move it one more tile north but when I managed to place it closer, I decided that enough is enough.

I started yesterday to custmoize the houses and I think I will manage to make them so it will be imaginary one big town.

i have been wondering for months why my cursor is always way off from where i am trying to place a house - DUH! lol... when i got a widescreen monitor few months back i moved my game window into the middle. i never put two and two together. thanks so much Teeshy!

i tried to resize my 18x18 a few weeks ago to move it over one step, and the stupid cursor never was where i wanted it to be and i ended up with a 13x18. i initially went into total panic mode figuring that an 18x18 would no longer be legally allowed there and i'd totally screwed myself. so during the hour i had to wait before i could try resizing again, i went to test center and fiddled around with house placement and learned that the spot you click on the ground when placing a house will end up being the exact center of your front steps. i never knew that either! for some reason i always thought your cursor marked the spot where your house sign would be.

i also never knew that an 18x18 actually sits on a 17x17 size plot. so when it was time to try resizing my house again i laid goza deeds on the ground in the exact outline of where i wanted my house footprint and clicked the front center (goza #9 was the exact center for me since my outline was 17 gozas across) and wha-bam i had my 18x18 just where i wanted it. resizing can be so damn stressful!!! lol...

Resizing have to be the most stressful thing to do in the entire game...

or actually WAS the most stressful thing to do.

I realize that some, if not most, are now gone, but there were some lovely design details in a lot of those places, and I'm wondering if you might still have some of those screenies to post here? a mountain of work went into that thread, and I was very upset to see it retired

I have the old post on my harddrive, I saved copies since it was easier to do it in notepad then update. I'm still hosting all of the images, and the all have their own html pages.

I will try to go through them this morning and put them on a page, dunno how time intensive it will be, hopefully it won't be bad!
