Paladins..... did anyone notice they are all gone?

so, for years i had a nice little trick for working up wrestling on my mages.

i would go to the fight pits in Jhelom and work up through the 4 ranks of fighters.
then i would go off to Trinsic and get a paladin and go from 100 to 120.

was a nice easy way to work wrestling to 120.

but i went to go get a Paladin tonight and noticed they are all gone!

they have thier own little island in Trinsic and it is empty.

then i remembered that ShadowLord event where we killed all the paladins (if you where in SL) and they never respawned them!

what is having Trinsic, the City of Paladins of there is no Paladins!!!!!!

Yup, i sent in ticket after ticket for months after that event.
One of my Chars is an RP Paladin in DOT and it used to be good to have a little band i could control and move around.......but no more.

Only ever got one reply, stating if i continued to send in tickets on the subject then my account would be suspended.

I'm on LA, and hadn't seen Paladin NPCs AT ALL from the time I started (AOS first month), until they were RE-introduced as part of an event several years later. In fact, I seem to remember Stratics having them listed as an extinct creature for years.

The only ones I know of on LA are at the south gate (and maybe a few at the west gate) of Trinsic in Trammel and, after all NPCs got their occupation titles added, became "A paladin a Champion of Honor" - essentially, part of a mass of respawning event NPCs (not hireable) that never got cleaned up, that makes entering Trinsic by means other than spells somewhat hazardous for Necros. There were some hireable ones that were seen for a month or two during the Invasion of Luna about 5 years ago, during the tenure of the most fondly remembered EM LA ever had (when LA was having more events per month, for both reds and blues, than Atlantic).

If you guys remember the story well... they had brought back Clanin who was an apprentice to Nystul.

by doing this they conjured back a time when philosophy was important, Nystul was a sage as well as a mage.

They "infused" clanin in a roleplay story as if he was an illuminated mind that was coming back to reveal his own revelations about Nystul study of the shattering.

Then they started trying to get us involved in roleplay, so WE WOULD PAY ATTENTION at the following fact :

Although we were involved, the event was designed for the shadowlords and only for their pleasure of INSULTING the memory of Nystul and Clanin who stood for virtue and paladinhood.

The location where Clanin was "kept" by the royal britannian guard (who had asked us to asist in guarding Clanin from the evil Casca operatives who wanted to silence him - I ... HOPE... you all see the logic in this, it was supposed to be a faction battle, and I was roleplaying with MTC who is counsil of mages faction) was kept from us "good guys"...

But it was given to the players of minax and shadowlords... on atlantic it was minax who clearly dominated ironically they kicked the shadowlords ass.

But the point of the matter is the location was given to the bad guys, while us good guys had to infiltrate the bad guys to find out WHERE THE GUY WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT WAS !

What a great insult.

I then presented myself at Clanin's memorial, and you guys can go see for yourselves everyone gave an item which the EMs gladly put up there for eternity... well I gave a simple pot of honey, cause sweet to me were the days of Clanin and Nystul...

well it was the only item that wasn't installed at the memorial... and not only that... a shirt that reads :

MINAX is NUMBER 1

sits at the memorial as a DOUBLE INSULT to what clanin really stood for.

What we witnessed here was not a roleplay story, it was a ritual sacrifice, and live at that.

Clainin still lives on Arirang, Balhae, and Formosa.

No, he's sprawled across a bed in New Haven and Queen Dawn has never been buried (in Trammel) on those shards. In other words, parts of the UO "story" that require an EM to move them along have been very sorely missing on those shards, at least in the last few years. Balhae is probably the saddest ghost town of a shard I've ever seen and Arirang runs a pretty close second or third. Formosa, on the other hand, seems bustling by comparison, as do both Siege and Mugen.

They fed us this event, and it was clearly meant to be this way without any possibility of the good guys winning.

The point was us accepting blindly and cheering at the fact they actually do something, for a change, this is called with a few twists ; mesmerism.

As long as we accepted Clanin ... or THE SAGE... or the virtues ; were dead.

It was all they needed, once that was done, its no wonder they abandoned its continuity which is especially evident on these shards... thanks for doing your duty of journalism.

This is very important.
