(OT) Warning to UHallers: SWTOR epic failure.

Got invited to participate in the beta testing for SWTOR.

After struggling with a buggy launcher I finally got the game installed.

Within seconds after hitting "Play" it crashes to desktop with a Windows error message.

Error message log says it's msvcr90.dll causing the problem.

I get on the SWTOR boards and I'm shocked how many people can't get the game to
run for either the exact same problem or a myriad of others.

Customer Service reply?

"We are aware of the issue and hope to have it fixed soon."

Wow. So The Old Republic is an epic failure because some users are having technical issues in beta???

I haven't crashed yet, so I suppose I should suggest that the game will be a stunning success.

Just shows the OPS ignorance, games been flawless for me so far.. updated fine.. logged in fine.. running fine on several west coast servers, have had alot of fun trying all the classes..

IT IS A BETA.. ****s going to happen..

as for a epic failure... maybe for users in the 50-60+ age class who still use outdated pc's who can't update their vid drivers stick to UO old man.

Looks to me more like Ludes is trying help others by explaining problems he's encountering with that beta.

We all can't be perfect and sometimes we all jump to conclusions or make assumptions that aren't right, ... and more important, nor can we all afford state of the art computers. Sometimes we struggle with outdated equipment and internet connections .. but do our best.

Instead of laughing at Ludes and putting him down, I would suggest not replying or at least be polite if you must boost your own ego by setting him straight. Better yet, just simply explain.
