OT Trying to remember the name of an old video arcade game.

I have no idea what the name was....I loved playing back in college about 22 years ago. You were hitting a ball with a paddle that moved left to right across the bottom of the screen. The ball would go up to the top of the screen and hit blocks that disappeared. You could unlock various mods to your paddle...to make the ball stick to your paddle...or give your paddle guns....or make your paddle extra long.



Anyone have any idea what that game was called... I just found Galaga in the Xbox market place...and it made me think of this game....they were my two favorite games in school. This was back before most anyone heard of the home PC. Consoles were the Atari and the first Nintendo. We went to video arcades to play games at 25 cents a game...yes..yes and Dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Yeah, Break-out was a spin-off of Arkanoid.

Arkanoid is an arcade game developed by Taito in 1986. It is based upon Atari's <font color="brown"> Breakout games of the 1970s. </font> The title refers to a doomed "mothership" that the Vaus escapes from.
