Halloween, also my girlfriends Birthday. We went to a Thai Dinner all dressed up to celebrate. I of course brought a red crystal in my pocket!

Cool mask I got in Charleston on our recent vacation, hand crafted made of wood and horse hair. ( hopefully horse hair ).

I passed out on the couch later:

Well both you seemed to have a lot nicer Halloween than I had.

Very romantic and ya passed out on the couch ?????????? :)

I did get picture of first and only grandson in his first ever Halloween outfit in my email. Your lil one looks about same age as my one grandkid.

Mostly my Halloween was baking up a chicken breast, unseasoned..to take bits of it, cut up real fine to feed to a starving dog at the doggie ICU.

When I got there they had slapped a new sticker on his cage...'
DOG WILL BITE ! '

Vet told me my lil Knight was giving them all, 'AtTituDe' and refused any food off of any of them ! I told them ...ya cut his intestines open twice now, soo, he is NO LONGER FOND, of any of you, like he used to be ! So I spent my Halloween hand feeding a caged coned ICU Sheltie some home made cooked chicken.

He is home now today, stitched up, stapled and wearing a cone, but he is much happier, to be out of there !

What happened to your dog? Was it a planned operation or an emergency? Glad it is doing better anyway.

Your skill in Veterinary has increased by 3.0!

It was a 2.5 hour drive to Atlanta, just for dinner. Afterwards, we drove around looking for places to take pictures, but it was too cold. We had the option of crashing at a Hotel, driving the 2.5 hours back home, or 1 hour to her grandparents/parents house. We decided on the free lodging 1 hour away! :D It would be her mothers Birthday in 3 days, so a visit served as a Birthday visit too. It was 2 am or so, I passed out while they talked, and my picture is snapped!

It was an emergency. He ate a hunk of plastic that stuck in his intestines.
They had to cut it out. He got to come home, but his stitches broke up after 4 days, so he had to go back into doggie ICU, to be resutred inside and out.

$1600.00 and now 2 wks later, he got to come home again, today..14-21 days till he should heal if he does not bust something open again or get infected.

Dang 2.5 hrs. just to drive for dinner. Heck I shoulda had yall sleep over my cousin's house in Stone Mtn. Georgia. Well so long as it was a great evening and ya sort of hit two birthdays, at once that way. :)

Dang frosty chilly in the Memphis area here, tonite.

$1600.00! ouch! I'm sure that hurts more than the stitches! :)

I hope they are allowing you to make payments... thats too much money to be shelling out at once in this recession, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up.

Well that includes the same operation twice, the xrays, plus IVs and daily kennel fees ie boarding, in their ICU round the clock. They are a 24 hr. emergency pet hospital one of the few in the area. He slapped it all on our credit card...so much for me buyin SA for my other accts. though. He didn't ask if they had a payment schedule...I would hope that they do, but I was told the pet is not released to us, till they get paid.

BTW I was wondering what you and your gf had ordered for that dinner. :) Figured if ya drove that far it probably was a nice upscale fancy resturant. :)

My husband *has* had to end a pet's life once, ages ago, via that sort of method. One of our cats in Wisconsin got trapped in some hunters traps which had no right to be on 'our' land, cat was squished, leg torn off or bit off by the cat trying to escape the trap & bleeding to death when he found her. Lots easier killin something though, that one does not care about at all, and he swore he would never do that again ....if he did not have to do so.

I was not sure he would spend the $$ this time, after the dog we did blow over 4 k trying to fight an enemy called canine bone cancer. This time though he said, with bone cancer she really had no chance to win, yet he tried, but with this lill guy, merely swollowing a large chunk of plastic stuck in his intestines, that he had a chance to survive, so he blew the money !

Not easy for a guy *retired* to perform miracles to make that kinda $$ but he always has found stuff to do to make money *legally*, even when something cost so darn much like any sorts of emergencies.

I met a lady in there, spending $180. *a month* cuz her dog had diabetes, which she has paid for her pet for 3 yrs. now she said. $180. a month that is the cost of her pet's insulin and needles. She told me her dog and she both, had the same medical problems & she felt if she and he survive diabetes thru injections of insulin, they both win, some time.

Some folks do not care for their pets well at all, they never fix em ie neuter em let em roam in the streets to get hit by cars, and or use them to die in dog fights. We care maybe too much $$ but someone has to care about the animals they call their pets when, so many do not give a care, worth a flip at all for their pets, *or even their kids* some of em !

One of my cats ( we have two, both neutered w/ shots ) is said to have a heart murmur. The vet decided it was in its very early stages, and wanted us to get some outrageously priced treatment for it. The vet would go on and on, "I would do whatever I had to if it were my pet, they are like family members to me", and we basically told her that it was just a pet, not a family member, and we certainly weren't going to drive 100 miles to the specialist so we could dish out over $3,000.00, just for the tests that would confirm her suspicions, who knows how much treatment would cost ( open heart surgery for a leaky valve ). Every time we'd go back for shots or whatever, she would tell us the murmur is more pronounced than it was previously, and would do the same routine. She obviously had written about it in her file, because when she got married and quit, the new lady picked up on the routine and started harrassing us about it too. We haven't been back. It is just a cat, and he is doing fine. He gets very nervous around strangers, and that may be what they were "hearing".

They did offer a cat insurance plan though to help spread out the outrageous fees, so its something you should look into maybe.

We went to 'Nan Thai' in Atlanta. We pulled into the parking lot and valet took over, they opened the doors for us and parked.
We were seated in a modern looking room ( too bad it wasn't Thai themed ), and the waitress placed cloth napkins in our laps. The silverware was ergonomic and golden. They offered water, wine, or mixed drinks. The wine menu boasted $130.00 + bottles, so we opted for the $11.00 mixed drinks :D.

Jennifer had Atlantic Salmon with red curry and rice with bits of pumpkin in it, and flakes of salmon sprinkled over the dish.
I had Duck with pineapple and curry, green beans ( very spicy ) and grapes garnished the plate. The chef brought out the plates himself and set the table. We escaped from that place with only a $101.00 bill, not too bad. :)

Jennifer was easily the most gorgeous person in the place. *gloats*
