my girlfriend bought a graphire (which i think is basically the same thing just not as nice) about 6 months ago and loves the thing to death since she loves playing with photoshop and drawing and such....

my only complaint about it is dont plan on it totally replacing your mouse .....it comes with a mouse that works on the pad....but it works on where the where the mouse is on the pad...not on how you move the mouse like a normal one....really annoying actually when i have to use it....

but all in in all shes never regretted buying it...lot of cool things you can do with it that are really hard to do without

If you are an artist and want to draw digitally, an Intuos 3 tablet is worth the investment.

The Graphire is good as well, but doesn't have the amount of pressure levels or tilt sensitivity as the Intuos does. I had a Graphire 3 and later upgraded to the Intuos 3, and it made a lot of difference in my drawing.

I highly recommend the Intuos 3 tablet.

Yeah my main impetus is that a friend of mine is programing an old style rpg as a personal project, and asked me to do the artwork for it, as I am an ok artist, and I started doing it by mouse and it was just taking a long time and being an overall pain.

I've also wanted a tablet for years but had not been able to afford one, and I am now in the financial position of being able to do so, and the Intous3 looked like a good option.

Hopefully it will be incentive to really get back into art again.

Thanks for the replies!
