[Price Check] Ornament of the Magician

Back after a break from UO and discovered the Ornament of the Magician in my bank. Originally, posted a price check in non-rares, because I thought that it was a common enough drop. Might still be but mine is cursed and does not have a durability rating.

UO Guide shows that it dropped as a cursed item but I don't recall taking part in those events.
"Cursed versions were given as loot from:

Ophidian Berserkers during the Ophidian Invasion of summer of 2006.
Grim Reapers during the Halloween 2006 season.
The Magincia Invasion during the fall of 2007.

Anyone have an idea of price? Rarity?

The ornament of the magician is not a rare item as it still drops in doom gauntlet, the "cursed" part just means it cant be insured and if you die and dont retrieve your corpse its gone forever so that makes it pretty worthless sorry

I too have a cursed version on Great Lakes but i dont think they are worth much atall

The cursed ones do actually qualify as a rare since they are no longer obtainable. I would say it is currently only worth a few mil at most but I recommend you hold onto it in case they happen to make it an ingredient for something better such as the hat of magi and staff of magi recently have been. If that were to happen then the value would increase significantly

Just a thought here... if the devs continue on with the idea of old artis becoming a crafting ingredient the cursed versions work too (and the crafted item isn't cursed).

I made several of the new glasses using cursed hat of the magi.
