Origin Patch 56 bugs, so far

I have noticed two problems:

1. exorcism in magincia is not working, I am 120 necro (edited after below posts to reflect 120 SS also) and have casted it many times around the proper monsters and it doesn't work. I have also verified with 3 other necros that they have not gotten exorcism to work. You can cast it, just no effect on the forsaken souls.

2. just a text problem. When completing an escort, you get the message completed quest, and message of compassion gain, and the 500 gold,, then you get a message, " You have failed your escort quest"

I would not assume that. I played on TC1 with GM necromancy but had no idea you needed GM SS for it. Best to at least ask and make sure that isn't the problem.

The forsaken souls on origin also are not moving much, they just stand still, so there is really no timing, as you can stand beside the forsaken souls and cast exorcism right beside them.

it could be possible the invasion is about to start there and the spawn may act different during the invasion.

Skeletal Liches are being treated as blue, they can be healed aslo when you try to provoke the lich as the main target you loss lots of karma... Very odd.

I don't know which faction, but doubt that is the reason as it has been that way all day.(at least the last 7 hours) that I know of

I don't think the ghosts in Magincia are part of the invasion. They are always there on TC all day everyday. They are part of the "healing Magincia" quest.

Also the shadow feinds damaging aura will hit players EVEN under the effects of Honor.

Has anyone been able to get the threads from the corrupted souls? I've killed like a bazillion and no threads.

I got the canvas rubble off of one quest, pretty cool stuff! So far that's all I've had time for I'm a sad panda.

What are you using to kill them? I couldn't get ev's to work. I got a few with flamestrike but it took a really long time. The only character that would get one without having to kill 100 was a fencer or swordsman. I would get one around every 10 kills.

I noticed and reported on test center that if you do exorcism around where the houses are it wouldn't work but if I did it in the middle of the town it would. Not sure why that area wasn't working. Make sure you stand ahead of them while they are walking and cast it when they are about to walk by. If they are too far it won't work.

On TC1 I didn't get any killing them with any form of magery. But when I used a swordsperson I got about 1 for every 10 I killed too.

I got two using ebolts on TC. That was with about 15 kills. RNG for the win.

The mage I used to get them had no necro or spirit speak. Not saying that that was how its supposed to be. But I did get two using spells on a character that wasn't a necro.

And, sadly, I don't have much faith in a group that sees bug reports one day, then moves said bugged patch to the main shards the next with no bugs fixed and no additional testing taking place. Crazy but expected really.

I went to Magincia about 4 hours ago for a while with both a tamer and an archer to do the Threads of Fate quest. Got nothing.

Just went back about 45 minutes ago and finished the quest pretty quickly with my archer. The threads popped in her pack. Seems like she was getting one thread for about every 12-15 kills.

Edited to add: Went back with tamer and a pet. Although the pet was guarding the tamer virtually the whole time today, didn't get even one thread after killing at least 200 corrupted souls today, most of them this evening. Something's definitely buggy with using a tamer and probably with using a mage and summons.

Good to hear you did well with an archer. Someone posted that on TC archers fared about as poorly in getting the threads as did mages. I will have to try my archer when LS gets the pub tomorrow.

Don't know what to say about tamers and mages using summons but I'm not surprised by it, since they also sometimes seem to have more trouble getting drops in the anti-Virtue dungeons.

Seriously, I hope that they fix it so mages get at least close to the same drop rates as warriors do if they haven't already.

I had been using a hiryu and decided to take the big guns back and try a greater dragon. No luck with that either. The tamer's a peace tamer with no eval and kinda crummy mana regen, so I wasn't doing much spell casting with her.

The little buggers kinda sneak up on you, a lot like ninjas, and like to poison, so if you're using a mage try to keep your distance. Using orange petals might be a good idea (didn't have any grown yet on Origin). If you do decide to try a tamer (maybe they'll fix something so they can get threads), use a pet that can keep itself healed or be prepared to do your healing from a distance. Vetting with bandages can be a little tricky. In some spots, you'll also have to be super-fast with setting your pet on targets to keep them off your tamer or be ready to inviz a lot or kill them with a weapon or maybe cast Protection to keep your spells from being disrupted all the time.

Here are the stats for one of the Corrupted Souls. They all seem to be close to this:

63 hits
102 stamina
213 mana
105 strength
102 dex
213 intelligence
74.1 barding difficulty

Resists: 75% physical / 33% fire / 83% cold / -- poison / 59% energy

They do 4-40 points physical damage.

Skills: 82.4 wrestling, 80.9 tactics, 80.8 resisting spells, 0 anatomy (goes up slightly as they fight), 0 magery, 0 eval, 0 meditation (goes up slightly as they fight).

Honor only prevents monsters from attacking you. It does not stop their natural area damaging effects such as heat, frost, life drain, etc.
