Hello everyone,
I am planning an event to introduce a new neutral/evil RP guild. The guild will not be chaotic evil but more organized evil with some "good" intentions. Anyhow I need a few opinions with planning this event.
I have mulled over several ideas in my head and am finally ready for input on what I have so far. I will write up RP to follow these mechanics, I am just trying to get the mechanics down.
Basically the event will start with one of my characters, a messenger of sorts running around with a cursed item. It would have to be Felucca somewhere. The goal would be for someone to kill this character and obtain the item.
I would want to make it difficult to kill this character. He will not give a murder count to the person killing him. Template advice on survivability would be appreciated from the experienced PVP crowd. He doesn't have to kill, just last a little bit so he can't be insta killed by one player.
Template so far:
Magic Resist, Bushido, Parry, Ninjitsu, Anatomy, Healing
Wear an all 70's corpse skin proof suit, 70 dci, high HP regen.
Parry/Bushdio for melee attacks of course
Ninjitsu for animal forms.
Opinions needed here.
My thoughts so far is several players would be out to kill me, I'll come up with a RP reason for this...the strictly PVP community can chose their own justification. If a blue player attacks me he'll flag and be attackable by the other blues. The reds of course will already be attackable. The main goal here is to loot the cursed item. It will be a specific cursed item. I'll keep it in a locked box in my pack.
Once the item is obtained, the victor (if he can get out with it alive because if he dies it can be looted from him and of course we'll have a new victor) will need to take it to an ambassador (another character of mine) who will give the victor a ship key. The ship will be located in Felucca T2A so it can't be recalled to. That ship specifically will need to be used (along with the cursed item in the victors pack) to sail to a remote location in Fel T2A. Once at that location the leader of my new guild will be waiting to be released from confinement. (RP wise) Both the cursed item and that specific ship are needed to release him. The guild leader will also have a key for that ship on him to ensure it is the right ship. The victor will have to transport the guild leader to safety. Once the guild leader is somewhere safe (maybe kinship) the victor will be rewarded.
At any point the "victor" can be killed and a new victor can take over. The only thing this captive leader cares about is getting to the set location, whoever does that in the end, wins the spoils.
I am thinking I could enlist a guild (perhaps pirates) to defend against the victor sailing out to release the guild leader. I am also hoping that other players will continue pursuing the victor trying to get the item from them. A nice sea battle would be a fun time.
Obviously the guild leader could get pk'd. The requirement here will be he has to be rezzed to "move".
For a reward I was thinking along the lines of a crimson cinture. I figure this is an item most play styles can make sue of.
So...pick this apart, where do you see the flaws? The drawbacks?
One flaw is a griefer could "win" the cursed item and not continue with the event. We could just push it along and assign a new victor if necessary.
I have also considered contracting an experienced pvp'er who is hard to kill (like Cutter) to be the initial "carrier".
Is a crimson cinture a worthy reward for this? Should the reward be increased?
I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read this and even more so if suggestions are made. I am OK with completely scrapping this idea and coming up with something different if necessary.
