I'd like to see how opinions change over time.
Poll ends in 2 weeks, even if there is an event before then, or no event for longer.
Please do not vote in this poll if there has been another event since Casca's speech that you have witnessed or heard reports about (I'll make another when that happens).

:eyes: I've never been one to fully trust those of Elvin kin. I'll keep my eyes open.

I still can't believe that the Devs are making a Gargoyle race and not a Dwarven race. But that is off topic.

I'm sure by now every one heard his slip of the tongue during his speech. I'd watch our backs...I think he is in cahoots with the ShadowLords.

...never thought I'd see the day a stinkin' Elf take the throne. *cough, ahem*

With all due respects to those concerned, this seems like little more then another round of let's all wait for the snakes on a plain. I came to hear him speak and went away just as disappointed in UO as I have been over the past year. The last think I am interested in is a rehash of the same tired stories and plots. If I wanted that I would watch All My Children on television.

Still I wish Lord Casca luck and hope some of you find something useful or fun in all this.

From an out of character standpoint, I think the characters of Casca, Kasavan and the other guy (rp-character, starts with an "O" ... curse my memory today (Owain is it?)!) have been well played and the plots involved interest me. I especially like watching the other players and characters (depending on rp or not) reactions to Casca's ascension. Based on little to no real information, we-as-a-whole have already decided about his worthiness to be king and which side of the current battle he stands on. While I don't expect that we'll be surprised by the truth, I must submit this: What if he really does have the best interest of the kingdom at heart? What if he really is acting alone rather than under the influence of some higher power? One thing remains certain. While the majority of characters are opposed to his rise to power, there is no more "good" side in Britannia. Which brings me to my in-character response.

Aneirin (UP): While I listened to him, I can't say I approved of his speech, but what he said was hardly surprising. I think the results, as far as my ship-mates are concerned, will be benificial to us. Now that the "good" kingdoms and empires of the land have been outlawed, they may turn to the outlaws for guidance. We can use that to our advantage.

My vote: Somewhere in the middle, leaning toward liking him.

Many have already seen my attempts at murdering this man, so I think my views are well known. Absolutely Hate Him.

Va'lis Razele - Has his own views on the man. Having fought Melissa and seeing Avery arrested so suddenly, a nagging doubt began to follow him. When Casca was rescued, at first he believed it to be the end of hardships. Now, after seeing his quick rise to power, He will not follow this man who seems bent on destroying what we have tried to create. Down With Casca!

OOC: Great storyline, interesting, and Casca actually interacted with the crowd and the people! We've also seen some tax collectors showing up, which is even more exciting!
IC: Katherine agrees with the rest of the Guardians that Casca is not even close to living up to the ideals and virtues that were professed by the only King we have ever heeded, Lord British. Lord British always came amongst us as a companion, and he beseeched and asked for our help, never demanded it as Casca's Freudian slip has shown! Casca is a follower not of the virtues, but the antivirtues, specifically that of Falsehood. As a member of the Guardians who were given the Deed to Trinsic, hearing his proclamations of attacking the City of Honor and taking it away from us are enough to tell the Guardians where we must stand. To one who will embroil the citizens of the golden city in a conflict merely to sate his own pride of being able to claim rulership of all the lands, the Guardians can not stand by and watch. We've already begun evacuating the normal citizens out of the city as best we can in case this foul man does make good on his threats of attacking our city. We've also thrown out three tax collectors so far, two of whom came calling upon Olympus City, and the other who decided he was going to march up to the Trinsic Bank and merely take whatever he wanted! Casca even hired known thieves to do his taxing! (OOC: The Tax Collector NPC's we caught were "Bane the Tax Collector the thief") Trinsic will always stand for and uphold Honor, and there is no Honor to be had in bowing to a man who wasn't even a member of the council half a year ago and has lied his way into being.
