One fine day in Hades...

Grunting and wheezing, the once mighty Cretian King Sissyphus tensed his muscles and pushed the large boulder, his feet scrambling for purchase at the gravel and pebbles.

With the thud, the boulder fell forward another foot. For the upteenth time, he could see the top of the cliff. If he could manage to shove it over, his eternal punishment would be absolved, so said Hades.

Shouldering the boulder again, he groaned and pushed. The boulder lulled forward, just to the edge, and the abruptly slipped from his grasp and tumbled down the path -- making the damned monarch start all over again.

Wiping his brow under the heavy golden crown forever affixed to his head, he wearily trudged down to give it another try. However, he noticed something different this time.

He saw an archer on an Ethereal Mount running around in circles, away from a Winged Fallen Warrior. Sissyphus took a moment to arch his aching back and then walked to the newcomers.

"Hello!" King Sissyphus said. "You fellas, erm, new here?"

The archer turned to the king, and then lowered his bow. He sighed, and then called to the Fallen Warrior... "Hey Murmur... take five." The Winged Warrior put away his planar sword, sat down on a rock, and took out a lunchbox.

The warrior turned back to the undead king. "Hi. Yeah, I'm Prince Caspian."
Sissyphus smiled and tugged his sweat-soaked ermine cloak up. "Ah. So you are also here on an eternal hopeless quest."

The warrior started tightening the string on his Mischief Maker Bow. "Sure am. I have to drop this joker down to 0 hitpoints. But for every 35 points of damage I can land in 5 seconds, he can heal himself up 50 from an unlimited mana pool. We've been at it for longer than I can remember."

Sissyphus winced. "Wow. Truly, you must have done something reprehensible to earn such a frustrating, never-ending fate."

Caspian arched an eyebrow and lowered his bow. "What are you talking about? I'm paying 12 bucks a month for this!!!"

With that, Caspian and the Fallen Warrior resumed their futile moebius-like dance of pointless combat. King Sissyphus went back to the boulder. While it was as heavy as ever, the monarch thought it was somehow lighter, now that he saw someone with a more wretched fate than he.

The story doesn't end there...lots of other folks will be along to lighten the poor king's burden.

*opens door and watches crafters and resource gatherers stampede across the Styx, trampling poor Charon in his boat*

Oh yeah and tell those bozos that shooting Cerebus through the fence is an exploit.

I would but the PvMers that came over walking on the submerged bodies of the trampled old & slow crafters in the Styx are yelling too loudly, complaining about the calculation of looting rights for his collars (only 3 people got one of course).

Heh, and I hear poor Tantalus is still 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000th in the queue for getting him out of that lake...

That is because the GMs are all busy deleting the 1,000,000,000,000 black gozas Hades placed, to make his domain look more thematic. They are deleting his charred rubble plants, too.

Sisyphus ... was avaricious and deceitful ... and ended there as a result.

Caspian ... on the far other hand ...
was there by choice ...

A weekend pass ... as it were ...

now ... IF Caspian ... would get a Fey Swatter ...

Pixie Swatter's UBWS doesn't apply to Archer foolios like myself.

Right now all I can use them for is to crack walnuts and tenderize weinerschnitzel.

As for the woes of being an archer ... all your templates are such ? no single developed character .... out of 5+
dares close in and melee?

again ... your dissappointment with the resort ... more YOUR bad planning ...
*shrugs*

my trash picker ... just set out his fourth boat(shield-thread-sword storage) ... started on the 4th millio ...

Since you went all "classical" with your premise ...

Umm, switch bows when he's almost dead to a reg bow and use mortal? I do that with the pixie so he doesn't keep healing himself...
