Omg Speed /Spells and Death

Look we all know players do it and we all tasted it some way or another,So what is going to be done about it? Nothing isnt good enought anymore and as a paying supporting player I what a answer.We know you (DEV Team) read theses posts ,so when you dont answer it only adds fuel to the fire.

Im talk about

1. Players that run at lighting speeds no human can go( If im in wolf form) running how can a guy on foot past me?

2.If im playing fine and when a so called group comes after me I slow to a crawl.

3.How can one player cast while runing after me? How can he pull off 6 spells in a blink of a eye and then while im dead im still getting hit lol.

I will leave this at 3 im sure other players wil add to this list.

All hackers will claim to have good connections as well. I ran into one that told me he ran circles around everyone because he had a fiber line. Which is a cool sounding word and all but it amount to crap and I know a fiber line is and it doesn't make any difference because they don't go to the server.

There are plenty of people who are physically close to servers that have good connections but the sheer volume of people who have these connections are too great to be any kind of reality.

The bottom line is UO is rampant with speed hacking cheaters and something needs to be done. If they would create a team of GM's to ban people it would do wonders.

i guess it's all about community values really... i know for sure that on europa anyone who speedhacks will be well known and get a lot of stick for it, they will lose respect and generally become hated. On Europa the sign of a decent pvp'er is someone who doesnt hax, and everyone knows that. People dont use speedhack because it doesnt give them the respect they want.

Time to get off of dial up and buy a real computer because from the sounds of things you are getting lag from your connection and/or machine.

I have a fast machine and a fast cable connection and I have never see what you describe.

The last time I did see it was back when I had a machine 1/4 this powerful and a much lesser connection.

I know there are some denial post on here.. But I have a great connection and good computer; and I see these things too.
1) Speed hackers do exsist; and as of now the benifit of speed hacking out wieghts your 1 in 10,000 of getting caught.
2) We had a guild on Legends that pulled this off. Same guild that could recall into t2a....
3) Yeah, I've noticed people before casting FS almost twice as fast as I can Gheal... Casting FS like it's a 3 circle spell probably.

My internet is very fast and I also have a super system it's not on my end trust me.When players can out run a wolf running and circle around them with walls popping up while we are all in case something is fishy.First im about 2 screen away and then boom they are past me lol its really funny that they allow this .

nope... the casting faster bit is actually an exploit, not a hack.

I have seen people insta-cast flamestrikes on last target while running. You can definitely remove the cast timer all together with at least one exploit.

sounds like you dont know what the fk youre talking about....also, in order to see people speedhacking in pvp, you actually have to, you know, pvp(killing miners isnt pvp sir), from the posts ive seen you post, you sound like a fkn trammy, ultra light style

The one major way to spot a speed hacker is let them follow you and make a sharp turn around a building, just keep circling it... If that player isn't hitting the corners and hes just skipping tiles around the house it's a speed hack.

Best way to get these guys banned is video it and send it in. I have reported a few and never seen them again on Legends.

I didn't say speed hacking made you cast faster.

But I've seen people cast like that before.

If you look at his #3 you can see it doesn't deal with speed hacking; but spell bugs.

I know what I am talking about. You cannot run faster than me no matter what you use because there is a limit on how many movement packets can be sent back and fourth between clients and the server.

Speed hacking is a pretty much a thing of the past unless you are on dial up. then you can speed yourself up but to others your only moving as fast as they are.

Casting I can believe I have seen that particular exploit but it is very rarely used.

Bottom line is that most of the "cheating" is from lag and or server delay between your client and the server you are hitting.

I won't say people don't cheat or try to anyhow but the amount of times a cheat actually gives someone an advantage over myself is low. I have been around I have pvped I know what the hell I am talking about.

The most noticeable advantage someone is going to have over you and the easiest way to gain an advantage is use a template that is over powered.

If you use a template that is over powered you have the advantage in pvp with 0 risk of getting banned because it is legit. And an over powered character can do way more damage than someone simply speed hacking.

Just so you know. I have 10mbit cable and a 6000+ dual core AMD machine with 4gb ram. Lag is nonexistent on my end of things.

I got pulled over going 110 in a 65 once (which concluded my ever driving like that again!). When I rolled down my window to talk to the cop, he was breathing heavily. It was funny, but I didn't realize how funny it was until long after the event. The way he was breathing, you'd think he had to run to pull me over. I probably made his night.

Maybe what we need is a group of GM's who's sole responsibility is to chase people. You have to create an incentive by making it fun for the GM to do his job

I'm not sure this is a PvP only - I'm having creatures pull this same stunt on me in Dark Moonglow!

Sure, monsters can cast while moving, but one creature hitting me with 4 spells AND a melee attack in 1 second, with me using broadband, is insane. 2 spells (one of them being explosion) I can understand - but 4 (with none of them explosion)???

I've fought against TONS of people in Fel who do exactly like you see in them videos. I've seen people cast FS while in full out run and not stop to cast for even 0.25s. I ping 23 on average to my shard, and most people in Fel who move like you see in them videos can run circles around me.

Find it hilarious when people post screenshots with [censored] like this in them. Take a look at the Field spells and Trees. This was on TC.

For years I have run a cable connection on a good-great computer. Always I find in a pvp environment a melle fighter can out run me ever time. Ive given up and became a stealth archer and shadowstrike any who dare get resed near me! Its my only option aside for finding(and using) what it is they are doing!

The fact the computers run our games and codes run computers and people make codes is a fact. Viability of ethics in a society such as ours is a question that cant be brought to light with out looking to ourselves and not others. You can not tell others what to chose or why. Only that the consequence is the color of their world and not their size purse.

Anyone who PvPs knows that speedhacking is real. Many people who you wouldn't think would cheat do it now just because they feel they have to to survive. Personally I've taken a break from UO partly because of the rampant speedhacking.

At the end of the day if the devs gave a damn about it or it was possible to fix then they would have done so. I assume that we all shall just have to live with this cheating being part of the game now. Or else vote with our feet as many have done.

Do you have any idea how absurd this sounds.. UO was founded on needing a Pentium 100 Mhz system. I have a good system and run flat out with no lag and have seen ppl hacking and killing 30 ppl in a short 2 min time. I have seen them cast running FS 3 times over.. I have seen 6 ebolts chasing other player from ONE caster.. I have seen the damage from someone spped hacking spamming magic arrow that look like a machine gun.. so fast that it looked like a 20 space lance of magic arrows. I have noticed something aswell on the lag created by your own system.. Many anitvirus can cause lag when running during game play. I have had to reinstall my UO over the years.. New system, crashes, .. When I open my mage that using a srceen full of Casting Icons I get some lag.. When that char is opened the first time on a clean install I notice I run like the wind.. Once I fill my screen I slow a bit.. THIS is KNOW,, THIS is ME lagging.. THIS is when you SHOULD be able to out run me but around me WHILE Casting 4 tick spell..

Vyal I swear you talk just to hear yourself talk. I happen to know the exploit in question, and it IMPOSSIBLE to cast more than two, and it even took some effort to time it right to have them both land near the same seconds. I thought they fixed it at one point or another, but ONE PERSON did not cast that on you, despite what you say.
