Freja is right. Restarting is a lot of fun, but siege is pretty easy to get going. You won't have trouble finding spawns to do, for example, and with that many, you may even be able to fight off the inevitable raids. Oh the fun! Also, if you ally with an established guild and do spawns together, you can take advantage of some of their pvp expertise - most of the pvp'ers are always looking for a fight, and raiding/defending a spawn is the best kind.
ROT is a big difference, you won't be able to macro up skills as quickly as on other shards. Some skills, like taming and discord and crafting skills, are far easier with ROT, others - like weapons skills - are harder.
You'll definitely get pk'd, but that's no problem if you aren't wearing uber gear. Just train up in GM gear - which is cheap, and there's plenty of players here who'd be happy to help supply you - so if you take a dirtnap, you lose little. Also, never carry anything you want to lose - thieves abound - and don't go afk at the bank. You are warned - keke!
When restarting, funny critters you'd never look at twice on a prodo shard become dangerous. I remember being killed by a greater hind and a lizardman! The risk and danger and challenge of mid-range creatures is back.
I think imbuing has greatly balanced the landscape. Uber gear is only slightly better than good imbued gear - which is cheap. Because of this, crafters with imbuing are in very high demand right now.
I hope you all decide to come over. There'll be plenty of people willing to help - most of whom lurk here daily. NEW is a particularly helpful guild for those starting out on the shard, Shalimar (the GM) gathers and gives out lower powerscrolls, lrc suits for training, gm gear, spellbooks/runebooks, etc. All of which is trivial on your home shards, but still very helpful for a newbie.
Welcome!
