These always crack me up. I think it amazing thinking about the stuff I(& everyone, like these guys) got done because the shards were down all the time.

My fave lines are

hehe I use to type it to my friends like this: LootinBritaniatheguardswannabanyaYouthinkthatI'msorrybutguesswhatI'mnot.

And the "Going to Trammel" is great, it shows how nothing has changed really.. except change EQ out at the end for WOW, and we don't have to boot and patch alot anymore.

Is it legal for them to sell songs containing references pertaining to Electronic Arts intellectual property?


Just askin.... parody and satire is usually a public domain issue until you start profiting off of it....

I actually bought that CD back when it came out. It was by a group named Midas and it not only came with the Ultima Parody CD but also one of their main stream CDs. Gosh I love the CD and at one time I changed my ingame music for the different regions to play mp3s that I made off of the CD so I could enjoy it ingame at random times. :)

The links Morgana LeFay provided may be the only current way to hear the parodies.

I had tried to order the CD back in January when DarkScripture provided the link to the authors homepage. After about a month or two - paypal refunded the money with a returned message something like 'the authors store is not setup'.

Actually the problem is not the EA hop, the hop prior to that caused the packet loss on the EA hop. It's the route your provider took to get to EA.

"Midas" isn't actually a group, but a single person who played UO back years ago (as well as the people who collaborated with him) and posted here on the UHall in its original board format (the current one being format #3). When the format changed, a BUNCH of the then regular posters created their own board because date bumping was unfair to all and whatnot where we all still post to this day although most of the posters on the offshoot board have gone on to other games and the board is more of a non-topical catchall board of a small group of people going through their daily lives.

I am an old UO player, and actually working on a website that doesn't have much to do with UO.. but Video Game Music.

vgmdb.net is actually the largest Video Game Music database ever created and i am bumping this thread cause i was thinking i could add the famous "Midas in L3wtero" CD to this database.

But i am lacking informations about it and i registered only to try my chance here.

It's about the CD only..
Could anyone give me the following informations:
Release date (at least the year)
Publisher
Performer (should it be credited to "Midas" ?)

If anyone own that CD physically, it would be awesome if you could scan up the front & back cover (if there are any).
Could anyone discribe the content of that album?
Does it came with a jewel case box ? a booklet ? Is the cd just a CD-R or manufactured one?

If you want all the parody songs, just Google them. But the site I found turned out to be an illegal macro site. Too bad, because some of the songs are worth listening to.

I remember hearing a long time ago that the guy that made those parodies, "Midas", was killed in the war in Iraq.

I've lost touch with the guy, but I can personally debunk that claim as he was never sent over to Iraq. I kept in touch with him on a board that split from this one a LONG time ago when the forum format was first changed from the original, threaded, daily resetting board. I want to say that the last I heard from him was 4 or 5 years ago, but like him I have also ceased posting on the other board for certain personal reasons. However, last I knew, he was very much alive and in the US and was not involved with anything in Iraq in any way.
