old timers question..

anyone like me who has been here 168 mo knows there was a day when we used dodge our weapon skill.

in todays words eval + anatomy acts as if you had wrestle, or fencing, sword whatever...

does anyone remember what we used to run stats at when we ran with healing?

cause its gonna be a mage/but heal with bandaids so i need the mana, gonna need the dex, and str to get as many hp we can.

so does anyone remember?

2nd edit:
In order to have such a build I think around 50 dex + possibly dex on your armor would be sufficient. If you cut any more int or str, obviously you'll be hurting.

Also, it probably wouldn't hurt to carry greater agil potions for that dex bonus when healing.

I just wanna say that I am firmly conviced that anat/eval is broken.. I switched to wrestle a few weeks ago even tho I lost a very important 20 points in med and I get hit a lot less. I was getting AI'd 5 times in a row with 70DCI consistantly. I fight the same people, I use the same suit, etc and with wrestle I am able to live threw archers. I get hit but not every freaking time the way I had been.

healing time was fixed to 8 seconds, regardless of dex. it only helps with slip damage.

when i ran a healer/mage back in the day, i ran at least 45 dex to get a few stuns in.


-Max Heal Duration Reduced to 8 seconds.
-Slip Damage Now Scales based on Dexterity

Well, Since Everyone Else was about as useful as 8 blues in the guardzone.

Dex timer is scaled every 30 Dex, at 150 Dex you have 4 second Heals, 120 dex 5 Second, 90 Dex 6 Seconds, 60 Dex 7 Seconds, < 30 Seconds 8 Seconds. Or something Fairly Similar.... Don't have uo on this computer to triple Check.

I tend to shoot for the 6 Second Heals after a pot, which if I remember correctly was about 61 Dex. So I run 90 Str, 61 Dex, 104 Intel

This is incorrect. The max heal time WAS indeed reduced from 11 seconds to 8 seconds. However, it still scales down with higher dexterity.

It used to reduce, IIRC, every 20 dex pts reduced heal time by 1 second. With a 150 stat cap the best would be 4 seconds. It looks like the new formula changed it to every 30 dex pts. The formula above posted by Elden looks correct although I don't recall seeing it posted by a dev since the change.

I run a Chiv warrior that uses healing and when they said the max time was gonna be reduced I really had hoped to get to 3 second heals but alas, it's still 4 seconds is the best you can get.

90/35/100 ;P

I always kept 35 dex when I was a healer mage (healing, anat, and wrestling) and just used bandages for on-the-run 10 second heals or to counter a poison every so often or to rez guildies, which was always cool because you could precast invis/heal

but now you have an 8 second max wait time cap and half that time to check for poison ... special moves depend on mana, not stamina ... so I'm not sure if you really need dex, let alone the amount some people are saying you need, hehe (unless you go anat/heal/wrestle/parry somehow)

My Chivalry/Swords/Healer is getting 4 sec heals..

Just outta curiousity OP, why go Heal + Magery?

Just for the double heal ability?

Cause then you have to add Anatomy..

But just curious...

I guess G.v.P. answered some of that while I was typing..
I'm kinda old school, still got a lot to learn about balancing templates.

Healing is going to be used much like a mage with confidence. A recent test we did our aids were interrupting on fireballs and lightnings uncursed(13-16dmg). I think we only did it with 15 dex though. The more dex you can fit on the more that amount increases. Just a little heads up.

The old formula was;

Healing (self) 11 seconds - dex/20

At 140+ dexterity you could achieve 4 second healing



IF the new formula is;

Healing (self) 8 seconds - dex/30

At 150 dexterity you should be able to get 3 second healing time. I'm definitely still seeing a 4 second timer on my bandages though.

But you can throw Protection and get uninterrupted heals and cures.. right?

I even have a Protection macro to invoke/uninvoke protection if I'm getting in trouble.

Seems to work on my mage.. who has no healing at all.. (Bard/Mage no room for it)

Once Protection is on I can cure, heal, and recall back to a safe spot pretty quick.

fact it's all one macro.. Arch Cure, Greater Heal.. target self.. recall.. stored book w/default set)

But nm we're talking about bandage healing here..
