Ive been playing UO yaers ago in the atlantic server. I am EU btw.
Ive played other games like wow but nothing beat UO i think :).

I started a new char on the siege server since i like PvP and the ruleset alot.
I got a couple of questions.

What are the prices on Fire Beetles?
What are the prices on Giant Beetles? I want 1 of each :)
What are the prices of ingots? Cause i am mining hardcore and all together i got 10k of ingots atm for sale. Need a fair price since i need gold badly.
Does anyone gives free vendor spots away? I cant afford to pay for them atm.
Who knows a location of an advanced training dummy? I want to start training my fencing up. The mining is just a moneymaker for me.
Back on atlanctic the days i played brit bank was the main bank. What is the main bank of Siege?
Who knows a good smith who can make me some armour and a weapon. I can pay with ingots :p Not with gold.
Anyone knows a spot where i can place some housing? Dont need much but i just want a little spot for my own :)

Are there any Eu orientated guilds on siege? Or Eu people?

Any questions? Shout. Hope to have alot of fun on this server :)

Flame statement?
As far as i know and as far as i ment it, its just a question for some housing. I dont need it as a gift or something ike that. I am willing to pay for it in ingots or in gold when i got ingots sold.

Hi Katie

Welcome to Siege. How long has it been since you played? Luna bank is the popular one on Siege. Use the general chat channel to get help. No one uses the help channel on Siege. There are lots of EU players here and lots of housing available all over.

There are several guilds, the largest of which is Gilfane. The NEW guild offers new to siege players a 30 day membership and will help you get established and find a suitable guild for your playstyle.

Best of luck!

I think what he meant was that there is a tremendous amount of open space and spots available. (Keep and 18x18 spots). He was offended that it appears you didn't even walk out of town to check to see that this is the case.

Fire Beetles and Giant Beetles are pretty cheap. Sometimes they are available for sale in New Magincia on the new Pet Vendors (just walk around south of the island near the docks). Otherwise people will probably tame for free for you if you're lucky (and polite).

I sold iron ingots for 20gp per. But again, check vendors in and around New Mag for ideas on pricing. Also gives you an idea of competition.

You won't need a smith anymore to make armor. A leather suit with 70 in each resist is all that you need. Metal armor is useless right now. A basic suit with 100% Lower Regeant Cost (LRC) without 70 resist are pretty cheap but ask around in General Chat channel if you can't find any :) Imbuing is the way to go these days.

Plenty of housing anywhere. Just walking around and find a spot that suits you. Shouldn't take you long hehe. I still like Felucca areas but plenty of space anywhere :D

Plenty of EU players. No real EU only guilds, but Gilfane is your best bet. A good varied mix of players from all timezones there. I'm EU along with a few others as well. I would recommend joining the NEW guild whilst you get settled but I think the guildmaster is away from the game due to personal circumstances.

Best bet is just to enjoy the game, join General Chat and say Hi etc. Always people out there to help. Just might not see them in the usual places :p

Hope that helps.

Just seemed to me you wanted ANY housing spot... You said nothing of buying a plot or being specific about where its at.

Thank you for all the awnsers.
Guess the most important thing is getting a vendor spot since that will make me get gold for the other stuff i need. Anyone has tips?
And ill try to join NEW. It would be of much help to get started.

@Guardian KX
I am not very picky about a housing spot. You are right about that. But i havent been walking around alot since i can only kill mongbats with my low warrior skills. Atm i am just trying to get some skills up and mine ore so i can sell ingots later.

There is one vendor just put up a couple days ago near the Magincia mint that will buy things you have. Ingots, hides, ore I think, wool, cloth, things like that. Im not sure what she is paying though.

There are house spots all over. One nice size one out of Skara on the road. 14x17 I think it is. Walk around in the areas you like and you will find spots. Also south of Luna across the bridge are tons of spots for houses.

Welcome to Siege and good luck.

Magincia Mint is the Magincia Bank.

Since you left, they added something called "Magincia Commodity Brokers". In Magincia, a player can rent a "stall" with an NPC there that will buy/sell commodities for the player. For example - he may "buy Ingots" for 16 and sell for 20. Worth checking. :)

These vendors are a bit strange. They take away the shopping fun in UO.
But anyway I found the vendor. Its fully stocked atm and wont buy anything else. Guess its kinda hard to sell ingots.

And Luna is deserted....

Banksitters are easy pickings and get PK'd on Siege... doubt you'll ever find one here.

Don't dare use the stealing skill in game though...
I esp love the fact that the biggest talkers are the ones sitting there asses on another shard. Stealing skill isn't used on Siege mostly. Only time it gets used and you actually see the scabs that use it is when they can come and steal one of a kind items at events geared to get people here. God knows how useful those orc sandies were in PvP, they didn't care that it could have MAYBE made a orc type guild. Then the same jerks stuff those items in thier banks or house and log out to never be seen again (till the next event). Most these **** heads don't want people to come here and play or stay. So they come, harass the poor noob hoping they'll log off and back to THIER barneyland shard. Then as a closer they give a speech about how the person didn't have a balls to stay so let um go.

So ya... most the ones that suck are also a :gee:

Kattie, do not worry about this guy or tell him he's right about anything, he has been a plague to siege for a long time, he's rude, he's thoughtless, inconsiderate, mean, hateful, and worse of all thinks he knows everything especially what your actually thinking is and your personal thoughts. You will see very soon that this individual tears this shard down, and siege doesnt need that right now, im an old 11 year vet of siege and recentley made the crossover to ATL.

Welcome to siege and hope your stay is a good one.

Take your opinion and times it by the KOC in your history, then float it in the tunnel where im sure the sun always shines.

Thanks for stopping by and extra bonus to me that you sold everything that had to do with Siege. Im sure your opinion on the shard you ACTUALLY PLAY means alot to them.:stretcher:

Wowsers! Really? (I am the owner of that vendor.) You did go to the one closest to the bank, right? I just put the vendor up last Sunday - specifically to purchase things like ingots from new players. I will admit I hadn't checked it since Tuesday night, but my goodness! I will check it tonight. Are you certain you used the menus correctly? (It took me a while to figure out how to actually buy and sell things to these vendors, I will admit.)

Note to you other players - this vendor is also selling. I had the vendor set up with 30 each of all the basics when I set it up - and the vendor could purchase up to 1,000 of each item.

Anyway. I will check the vendor as soon as I can tonight. Vendor's name (Camriel) is the same as my crafter (in fact, he looks like my crafter).

And welcome to Siege!!

Ah, I see what happened! Someone sold the vendor so many iron ingots that there was no money left on the vendor for him to buy more. So I've added funds, and taken some of the iron that was on the vendor off. I'm afraid I've also had to drop the price I am paying, but not by much.

This should work if others purchase from the vendor. I'm just gettin' it going, though, and expected it to take a little while to get it running smoothly. My idea is to try and get the vendor to self-perpetuate - bring in enough to help new players, sell enough to help established players. I guarantee you that if some of the higher level ore or boards are placed on the vendor, they will probably sell. Also, if the ship captains out there realize that this could be a quick source of iron ingots to repair their ships, it could take off.

But for now, this is a bit of an experiment and it might take me a while to get the kinks worked out.

Well i managed to get 10k off the vendor untill it was full again :)

But i am going to trow all my stuff on the ground and pick it up with a new char with fighting skills. I think killing monsters makes more money. But the gold i have now will get me trough. Thx!

Welcome Katie. If you haven't already done so, just roam around with a house placement tool till you find a spot you like. :)

There are plenty of places to place a house 18x18 or maybe a keep. Of corse you'd have to start small with a 7x7 for like 33k.

I couldn't muddle through the rest of your excruciatingly poor grammar and pointless meandering so I stopped here. 1) I play NO other shards, period. I used to but I moved to Siege permanently. 2) I play 4 templates on my main toon, one of which is pure thief (which is built around stealing in case you weren't sure) so do not presume to tell everyone what is and isn't used on Siege.

Well, alas, I had to take down the vendor stall. I was trying to adjust the prices to keep the stall afloat, but the 5% "sell" commission and 5% "buy" commission they charge is just too much to make it a viable way to buy and sell such basic items. I think the experiment cost me about 150,000. But at least it was able to help for a while.

For other new players that wish to sell basic commodities, go back to the old fashioned method - shout out in general chat and someone will help you out.

Old player considering returning to UO... how has siege changed in the past 5 years with the different upgrades to the game?
