Old Client Crash HELP!!!

i am running the old uo client and every time i start the game it begins to load but never gets to the logging. below is the error i get. plz help

Compaq
Windows XP

I believe it maybe a driver issue, but i cant seem to find a place to update drivers for free these days. Every time i look for drivers i find these stupid driver robots that want my MONEY!!!

After a fresh install of XP

That worked, so does that mean it's a sound driver issue?
