Okay What's Wrong With THis Picture? lol

Well I got a new computer yesterday. UO use to take up like 3/4 of my screen with a black edge around the right side and bottom where I put my pack, paper doll, and all that. I realize my resolution is MUCH higher at 1920 x 1080 now. It use to be much smaller than that. I've been jumping between resolutions and can't seem to find what is right. Wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about , what resolution do you think I'm looking for, and if that's probably the problem? Thanks

I should add I like the current resolution for everything but UO. I'd hate to change it *JUST* for UO. If that's the answer. But I probably will

I'm not at home to check but I do know that I have to run in full screen mode to get to get it the way your talking about. If I take it out of full screen it has a small game window. I think you might have to run at a lower resolution in your uo options

Okies. I was hoping there was some button I was missing in set up. I'll bite the bullet and start playing with the resolutions Maybe I can switch the resolution when I play UO. Wondering what a new player would think if they started playing and had that tiny game window lol

There used to be a trick where you could set overall DPI in windows, and UO would be 150% normal size, then bypass DPI settings per other programs.. catch being that taskbar etc is also permanently scaled up. Not sure if this trick still works though.

GOTO Make text and other items larger or smaller
Slide bar to MIDDLE hit apply and ck your UO screen if that is not big enough than slide to Larger hit apply and ck UO screen. I run larger

You will have to put it back to smaller when done with UO but I have found this way faster then changing the resolution and it is much easier to remember than different numbers.

That's exactly the reason, why I can never ever go back to the classic client.
Being able to play on FullHD with a play window which occupies the full 1920x1080 is the absolute killer argument for using the EC, at least for me. Yes there are multiple things, which I would prefer from the old client. But that's a trade-off I'm willing to take. Besides, I got used to it over time, so these matters definitely don't wheight as much as they did back then when switching to EC.

I'm not here to convince you to switch to the dark side. If you want to use the old client, fine with me. But EC is at least worth considering...

I FOUND IT! This is Windows 10 btw. Right click the UO icon. Properties. Compatibility. Check the box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Can keep my 1920x1080 resolution and UO blew up to fill the screen (with my black area for all my junk). Yippie!

Okay this is basically how I see UO now with a large monitor and keeping my native 1920 x 1080 resolution. So I'm happy. Haven't really set UO up yet so I don't have my spells and all that or any macros yet etc. The game window is nice and massive now so I can read the text again Might need a little tweaking, but that's what I'm talking about!

then hit apply, now you are ready for UO. I just leave this scree in the background and when I am done with UO I move it back to Smaller hit apply and I am ready for anything else.

Now the next issue.... when I change the volume in UO with the volume roller on my Logitech G510S keyboard it crashes the client

Yup nothing new under the sun. Someone else already had this same problem with the same keyboard. Just gotta remap the volume control. After i cut the grass though, getting nothing done at the house sitting here lol. But new computers are so much fun!

It's mostly trimming a few patches then I have like a couple weeds 3 foot high and the grass is like 4 inches lol Might be easier to just dig up the weeds

I'm in the burbs and everyone here has lawn care, people that come out every month and spray the lawn with some kinda seasonal crap. Then there's my house with some picker bush sticking out 3 foot above the hedges.
