I've been roaming around - mostly in the Yew area of Felucca and Trammel - settling in the Trammel facet with a new custom home and some vendors (All Yew Need right by the Yew Abbey in Trammel with what I hope are decent non-Luna prices without giving away the game to the mass marketers).
I've been approached by a few asking if I will set up vendors & the Merchant's Association in Luna again (for there are a few buildings for sale there if I wanna pay for it - of course); if I will be hosting player events again; if I will do story nights again; if I still pvp like a gimp.
To respond:
I am seriously out of practice (a Lich in the Yew forest sent me gray in just 2 strokes) and as such I do not have much to offer by way of resources, but am slowly stocking wares on a few vendors for people who may need them (hint to young ones & crafters). As much as the community aspect of running an association is intriguing - I just do not have the inspiration to participate in that way again.
I am not sure if I will stay - I prepaid for 3 months to give UO the go-again. When that time is close to expiration, I will decide if this will be a more permanent situation or not.
In the mean time - for those that are asking - please do not invite me to guild. I am still a Role Player at heart - and will most likely behave in that manner should you bump into me in the realm.
Hopefully there is still some spark of the Sosaria I loved so much hiding out in Napa somewhere. I'm finding some of the game changes interesting (wow... Citizenship!) and relearning my skill-sets challenging (I had a lot of my crafting skills on soul stones... which are long gone now). Am saddened by seeing so much open... space. That is a testament to the mass exodus I've heard about. My ICQ list is long though, and I have kept in touch with some people (cannot name them) who are contemplating a return as well. If they do come back, I'm sure they will let themselves be known.
Mean time... Kirthag has found a small bit of joy in riding the roads once again, despite her fumbling with band-aids and shield. Perhaps in a few weeks time she will have the skill to make a tango with those of the crimson color a bit enjoyable, if not rewarding.
