Occlo Arena unplayable

There is a house overlapping the first rows of tiles at the front of the Occlo Arena - the Arena stone is actually *inside* the house and can only be accessed by entering and clicking on the tiny frament of the stone still showing. This placement makes the Arena almost unuseable and also renders access to it the whim of the owner - it is currently open to the public but bannings would deny access and if you are Red, to *any* Arena.

Since it is the Felucca players that are most likely to use the Arena, this situation needs urgently to be corrected. As a minimum, the stone needs to be moved into the open. Hard to believe this was allowed to happen.

Just been there and took a look at the house - and i actually like it.
If i remember right from my times living on the Occlo island Pre-Trammel there
are barely any spots there that could take a house bigger than 7x7.

The house is nicely designed and decorated - so maybe the devs should considder
leaving it there and just move the Arena Stone to the front area (South-Side),
so it can be used without enering the house.

That way you dont have to destroy the home of some Occlo-Citysens and still
the duelists should be ok with such a solution. Just my two cents on that topic.

Broadly speaking, I'd agree. Move the stone. I suspect the house was there first given the level of decoration. I hope the account holder is active and responds in time though.

Hi guys.

I'm the owner and I'm moving the house.
I placed it legally and I'm really pissed off to have just 3 days to move all the things but the house will be demolished by friday.

Sorry it caused problems but remember that the stone have been added months after my house was legally placed.

I am the guy who called this to the Dev's attention - they were astonishingly quick in their response - and - in view of that, could well have given you more time.

I strongly suspected that the house had been placed first given the degree of deco involved. However, I'm sure that you understand that the position of the house irreconcilably compromised the Arena and that the Devs have had few options here.

I do feel though, that you have been dealt a poor hand here. You placed the house in good faith and have been evicted through reasons beyond your control. Reasons that are not, as in past instances where "legal" placement was redefined and applied to houses throughout the shard, being universally applied - this is a ruling that applies to you and you alone in Europa. Which make you kinda special really..;p

Assuming you still want to house in Fel, would you/do you want any help relocating? I have been hunting for a decent spot myself to see if I can improve my current position and would be happy to share info on sites, with you having first option, if only to placate my conscience for having brought this upon you.

Hey Skelf, thanks for the message but not great problem.

I am disappointed just how the thing have been tended.
Was your right to notify that Arena Stone was not usable due to my house.

But, you know, stone was not there when I built the house, so my house was not blocking anything beeing at 4/5 paver stones from the Arena.

What pissed me is that many payers do not play everyday and is not stated anywhere that I have to check stratics to know that my legally placed house is gonna be demilished in four days due to a changing in rules.
Have been just a luck that I went on Stratics and read that news.

Now I found a smaller spot, always on Occlo as my role play forces me to live there.
I simply love that forgotten small island.


IF dev/mods/gms contacted me via mail and gave me more time I wouldn't even bother.
But they showed absolutely no respect and some community managers even started sayng that "we had to imagine was not properly places" like rules are not egual for everyone and should be deducted.

Anyway, as always, I also find many playes with a kind approach like you did, and well...
...reminds how UO is similar to real world.

Well - i am quite disapointed by the Treatment of this issue by the officials as well.

So the house was placed there legally before the Arena and the Stone where put there
by the Game-Devs? Then from my understanding of fairness and civilised behaviour, not even to mention normal customer-treatment, it would be absolutely nessesary to make sure the houseowner is properly contacted and informed and is given the appropriate time and possibility to take the needed actions (e.g. move all items from the house and refund the plot).

As a Workaround for the time in between i am sure a GM would have been able to reülace the stone or make the arena-functions otherwise available for all players.
