Obsidian statues...who has a whole set?

Also, are you aware that there are 102 total? Each one has a left facing and right facing...UGH!

What would you say the value would be for a full set?

I am at 73 out of 102...getting there!

Andrasta has all of them besides The Keeper of Truth. The Keeper of Truth and The Patron of Courage are extremely difficult to find.

As far as I know, they are still obtainable, even the ones named after players. The quest is just cumbersome and the odds are insanely low to get one of the two ultra rare ones or the named one.

I think someone ran a script to do the quests ages ago and even they only ended up with a Keeper of Truth statue after months of running it.

She will have them on display in the Hall of Players pretty soon, right now they are just lined up in boxes.

I have 51 different names plus a player named one, but I have not attempted to collect both directions. I have done that though with the old Xmas statues.
Plus collecting the new named angel statues from the last event as well.

When they destroyed Blackthorn's Keep in Ilishnear, they originally did away with all the mechanical monsters.

This broke the Collector's Quest. You couldn't get the pictures of the Betrayer or Blackthorn's Juggernaut

When I emailed Mesanna, she acted like it was news to her that she'd broken the quest or that was the only place Betrayer and Blackthorn Juggernaut spawned in the game.

So she made them spawn at the Gargoyle mining camp in Ilishnear. I figure it might be the only thing I have ever done to help UO.

My motives were a tiny bit selfish; it is my favorite quest in the game.

(If anyone else spoke to her or emailed her about it, she didn't mention it. I didn't hear anything about anyone else being annoyed by the quest being broken.)

I only have about 40 of the obsidian statues. I didn't "collect" them per se, but only bought the cool sounding ones that I could use to decorate houses. I did collect the entire sets of Amaryllis plants with skill names, Halloween costumes , snow globes, pixie lights, Platinum Dragon statues, firefly garlands, sleighs, hourglasses (shame they quit issuing those each year), wreaths, and all the Vice & Virtue Christmas tree rewards. Sadly I no longer collect stuff because I no longer have room to display the collections and it just winds up in storage crates

I also have 24 of the "painted images of..." cards in a storage chest from back in the day.

@Tina Small collects these or i should say does the quest.
She has houses on numerous shards and is nice enough to let me have a couple chests in her houses.
I always look at her collection of these and think i should do it... but i have not.

Most of my statues these included are displayed in locked down Xmas boxes for viewing. I have over 3,000 different types of statues which includes event ones as well. To display them separately would take up to much space.

They are part of the normal quest, they are just insanely rare. Many years ago, Andrasta recruited the entire shard of Atlantic to do the quest with characters named "Goodman" in order to get a named statue to honor the late Goodman. She had thousands and thousands of statues by the end, but unfortunately we never got a Goodman statue. However, she did get a single "Patron of Courage" statue.

When I read threads like this it makes me laugh to think Kyronix once said (about BOD book counts) something to the effect of "we don't want people hoarding stuff..." annnnnd then they make "sets" with 105 items that people collect and ultimately end up in boxes/crates. Same with dozens of different Xmas/anniversary statues etc.

I have collected these for yearSSSS... literally took me over 15 years of watching, looking, spamming in game and posting here to get the 51 I have. During all that time I have never ran across any of them with those names. Anyone have a screenshot of them by any chance?

A lot of that time was spent prior to vendor search (both in game and the "illegal" one)... damn near went blind digging through vendor bag after vendor bag hunting. Which makes me think they are not available or rare as heck... even more so than the player named ones as I have seen many of those over the years.

I am normally right there with ya Poo. I have dismissed the claims I have heard about them for a while now. But when Halister said it existed? And that Andrasta had it... that changed the game for me. Both having stellar reputations I just wanted to see it at that point

@Peil owned The Keeper of Truth, I physically saw this statue, but I believe Peil had part of their collection deleted and is no longer active.

When the quest first came out I remember this being documented, but decades past has probably deleted all the references to the ultra rare statue drops. It's like the Blackrock hued Sakkhran Bird of Prey or the White Tiger Rug. If I didn't physically see those and they weren't documented online, I would assume they never existed due to rarity.

That thread does bring up some good questions on those 3 Statues though. I had already been wondering/searching to see if they could be some kind of event drop or something but see nothing on it. I suspect it would be listed in the archives that Brian did a while back if it were that.

From what Andrasta told me, it was a normal drop. It wouldn't have been from a character named "Patron of Courage" either since all the characters they were running through the quest were named "Goodman" in order to get a player named statue with his name on it.

Got ya. I was not equating the one running the script with a char named Goodman. Thought they were 2 different folks. My bad. Makes sense now.

It might be worthwhile posting to the uo.com forums to see if Kyronix can look at the code.

That obsidian statue quest and the Ter Mur quests that drop Limited, Collectors, and First edition books need to be heavily reworked since completing sets is essentially impossible without the playerbase UO used to have. They made the odds really low back then because way more players were doing the quests. Now it's a small fraction and essentially impossible unless you make an illegal scripting bot farm to run those quests all day and night.

Lots of things have always had to odds set TOO low imo. As a pixel addict I should not have to spend 300+ hours doing task A and still not get reward B.

I used to have a lot of the First Edition etc books. I did hundreds of Axem and Percolem quests. I noticed a few years ago they were gone. I probably wouldn't have any rare ones.

I looked just now and found these books my son wrote. I pre ordered 2 Samurai Empire from game stop. My son played with me for a while. He played Elfcott (he picked the name) an Archer Bard, I played Allen the Mage tamer.
