NPC Monks Robes Info Thread

Most this info was word of mouth but i think i got most of it right.

There was some sort of dup thing going on in barneyland with the hooded shrouds. So the programmers decided to decode them all and remake them into monks robes. Then in fairness to all they placed monks that sold them in the same spots on all shards. Siege's was next to the Empathy Abby in that small winery hut. Then they flooded the market with them, and about 2 months later removed them (via removing the monks that sold um) without a word to anyone (on Siege only). Siege has never had a Trammel but we recieved them anyway.

Siege never had the duping issue but we recieved the robes via patch . They are rare now and cannot be bought via NPC anymore. I have talked to a few people that have sent in requests on replacing the monks in the winery, not knowing if them being gone may have been a bug or whatever. Not one person has told me they ever recieved a responce, acting like it never happened in the first place.

Please add more info if yours is correct and/or mine's incorrect.

I always thought the only monks selling the robes were at the winery building on all shards and in both facets. Just checked on Baja at the winery in Trammel and there is a monk there selling 20 robes for 136 gp each.

I was playing at the time they did that (it was hilarious as even the statues that were wearing the duped robes changed)

On all shards it was a monk in the winery that sold them, and afaik siege is the only shard where the guy selling them was removed (not sure why). Last i checked he was still there on other shards.

Just wanted to add that i have probally 30 monks robes from an idoc but the weird thing is that when you die they instantly go poof and disappear. So im guessing there going to be even more rare unless they put that guy back.

Guardian, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but it appears that monk robes are a Trammel kind of thing.

You know how Siege's Asian counterpart, the Mugen shard, has both a Felucca and Trammel facet? Well, I decided it might be an interesting shard to check out to see if you can buy the monk robes anywhere on that shard. So off I went on my little noobie tamer on Mugen to visit both of the Yew winery. The one in Felucca only had a barkeeper. However, the one in Trammel had THREE monks selling monk robes for 408 gp.

I then went to Atlantic. The situation was the same there as far as NPCs go. No monks at the Yew winery in Felucca, but three of them selling robes at the Yew winery in Trammel.

So it appears that perhaps Siege currently doesn't have monk robes because it has no Trammel!

Now a Final question I want to shoot out there... One that I don't have a spare robe to test on... Can someone confirm the fact that a monks robe disappears upon death of the char. I've never heard this in the past but I need someone to confirm the above statement of monks robes going POOF upon death.?

Umm,i guess that my confirmation isnt good enough?I will sell ya one to try for yourself if ya want.Maybe im nuts but its happened 3x to me.

Believe you 100% I guess. But need more input to make sure its not account based, or just a bunch of out of the ordinary looking but special robes, or bugged char based, have a robe stalker following you... ect ect. Jonny Five Needs More Input!
