NPC Escort Quest not working

I'm one step away from gaining a path in Compassion, but for some reason the NPC's won't let me escort them. I'm talking about the nobles, merchants, brides, etc, that say "Quest Giver" in their tooltip, in towns such as Britain and Cove. They just tell me, "I have nothing for you at this time."

My character is an elf (just did the elf quest a few weeks ago) and has over 10k loyalty with the Gargoyle Queen. Does that have anything to do with it, maybe?

Sorry, loyalty has nothing to do with the regular escort quests. Really, these days your best bet for gaining compassion on a non mage gating character is to do the quest where you Escort Bravehorn to his lake. That one you can gain compassion in.

p.s. remember back to that quest.

check and see in your quest log if you have another escort (including Bravehorn, Lissbett or the guy from the underworld) showing active. You'll need to quit any broken quest that didn't go away, and if that doesn't work, page a GM.
