Not gaining on golem?

I'm unguilded and in tram hitting away at the golem but in not gaining a single thing! Can any one help?

Don't you need to be guilded, to train combat skills on a follower?

Your skill need to be 70.0 an have to be guilded to Gain off a golem

Actualy you can gain at 60 but it's best to be at 80 for gains. You need to be guilded and the golem has to be green to you at all times. Once it turns grey you won't gain.
