With the exception of Birth of the Federation, and that's only cause it's a Master of Orion rip off...and Armada 2 (first one was buggy as hell), and even those were rip offs of Command & Conquer/Starcraft...Just about every Star Trek game has been horrible.
And this is coming from someone who today spent 4.99 on a used copy Star Trek Encounters for PS2...turned it off after 5 minutes...but I'll be back. I’m a masochist, I know…freely admit it.
Don't get me wrong, I grew up loving Star Trek. Except for Voyager...which is unwatchable...and to lesser extent the TNG movies. I believe writers and creators alienate their hardcore audience by having contradictory story lines, adjusted histories, and nothing new and exciting in years. Enterprise is okay...but really is not anything we haven’t seen before.
This translates to their video games. I remember hearing something a year or so ago on the radio about video game makers wanting out of contracts for making Star Trek video games, cause the product itself was so lifeless.
So they wanna try an MMORPG? Oy...I remember when SWG came out, it was neat, but I don't think it's doing much better then UO is these days...and with WoW being what it is...and Warhammer all over the place...I think it'll be a flop before it even comes out, if it isn't already.
