No Evasion with ubw ????

I run fencing and was surprised to find that when i place a ubw bok in my hands i can't use evasion. We lock up 240 points in bush/parry, it only makes sense we should be able to use evasion with ubw. Arggghhh! What gives??

That was put into place awhile ago. Frankly I think that UBW evasion spammers were a very minor problem. The Tactics requirement for special moves and the other nerfs to Evasion were better fixes against gimp templates. I'd like to see them put back Evasion with UBW now that they have nerfed Bushido in so many other ways.

We sure do get nerfed quite a bit, don't we?

Anyhoo, to get around this 1 stupid evasion nerf, I just equip my fencing wep, cast evasion and then go back to my ubws mace. Evasion stays active, and you don't lose anything from switching. (Except a swing of your weapon).

The thing that gets me is if I'm disarmed carrying a mace, and then I must manually switch back to a fencing wep to evade.

They should change ubw/evasion for sammys. If you have 315 points in skills you get evasion with ubw. That re-equip issue sounds bunk, i haven't run into that yet

It's not bunk...that's exactly how it works. You need to have a weapon in hand that you have real skill in to initiate evasion, then you can switch to a ubws one.

I agree with your suggestion though.

Used to be able to, but a mage with parry and bushido and a UBWS weapon is almost unbeatable. (That's why the nerf was put in I believe)
