Jacob's Pckaxe will not raise your Mining skill above 100, like the mining gloves can. There are no items that will allow a gargoyle to get over 100 Mining.

For a race of miners/craftsmen they sure got screwed on the resource collection side of things. I use an elf if i want to gather special ingots wood ext. more chance to get better materials and then if i want lots of regular materials i go human. I was hoping the devs would give the gargoyles a bonus if only a higher chance to spawn ore ele's with there pick axes shame no such luck.
