I ran into them the other day when I decoded a t-map which was located next to that village. They hit me for half my health wearing a full 70's/75 suit, so I stayed the hell away from them...

Did a quick search online. They're for some quest for the Queen, I think...

I don't know about killing it but you can challenge it with a greater dragon: lure one down (as far as you can because they teleport back in place, like the minions) and never follow it when it teleports away because you'll end having three of them on you. Heal the pet - sometimes you need to get close and bandage-heal, the mob may hit yo once but it will retarget fast to the gd - and dispel the revenant.

Piece of cake. Marble cake actually: in half an hour i managed to take it down to 95% health so i suspect it isn't really killable by a plain tamer (if it starts healing at mob speed when down to 10% it will out-heal my overpowered greater dragon). Maybe with discordance things will go better.

Queen Zhah.

Queen Zhah is the Gargoyle Queen. Queen Dawn was our Queen; they killed Queen Dawn because the people who didn't like her were really loud on these boards.

I used disco and 2 RCs to kill them when I did the quest.

Anyone know if there´s an end date to this quest chain? Cuz it feels like the Lifestealers kinda killed the desert hunting area...

And this shocks you in what way, exactly?

SA lands are nothing but a nightmare, full of death and stealthing monsters.

mystic disco mage can take them solo, if your skilled heh.
When they first appeared we would try to fight them with a big guild group and it would just teleport around like crazy. Mostly tamers and summons so we switched to just Direct damage and It seemed like they stopped jumping around so much.

Funny thing was the finale of that quest string was "The Defiler" which was just a Night terror with different art.

I had a bard discord them and then sent 500 RC's on them... with 2 friends hitting them with everything we had... but found the best method was hit and run...

They stink. And the pulling you onto the ledge bit was too annoying for words... was bad enough that they rebound back to their spawn spot every so often and gather up a few "friends"... but the whole drawing you into them up on a ledge was more than I could stand.

I found that quest to be THE most annoying and finally said that the "reward" wasn't worth the effort.

ya the rewards are kinda a joke, the only usable one is the first book that has the 500 charges that you can use when inscribing. (keep book in pack when scribing and it will use a charge from the book and not take your mana)

Actually the Idea to kill her off happened before she was even brought back.

I am aware of no evidence that Queen Dawn's death as part of the plotline, was pre-ordained in any way, shape, manner or form.

If you were part of some hitherto-unknown story committee for In the Shadow of Virtue and wish to tell us of your experiences, as far as I am concerned feel free.

But I am aware of no evidence that Queen Dawn's death as part of the plotline, was pre-ordained in any way, shape, manner or form.

Not the least thing to be considered is that I am aware of no evidence that the In the Shadow of Virtue plotline was on the table at the time Dawn was re-introduced, which was during the Warriors of Destiny plotline. The guiding light behind the latter, Draconi, was no longer on the team when the former happened.

We pretty much did this one almost-solely for RP as I recall.

I hoped the 3 books would have been turn ins for some kind of useful reward, like the Void Manifestations quest.

I sure find it ridiculous that the hardest quest of the game gives the crappiest reward there is.

Im not saying HOW it happened was predetermined. In one of the old Focus Groups, Dawn was to be brought back *and killed*. Of course it happened later than it was supposed to, but it went pretty much how it was originally planned (as in she was brought back and killed...)

If you mean something pre-Warriors of Destiny (which you logically had to have because Dawn returned in WoD and hence there could be no plans to have her return after she already had), then it's fairly obvious that the plans were changed.

Unless you want to argue that the seed of In the Shadow of Virtue had already been planted, intentionally, which is possible but not terribly plausible.

I mean in an in-character sense yes; the demon invasions of Magincia being an early incursion by Virtuebane, and the Shadowlords merely trying to piggyback on Virtuebane's attempt, both failing, and the SLs finding another way in.

But in terms of a story-writing perspective? I am aware of no evidence that ItSoV was being planned before, or during, WoD. Hence the only reasonable impression we're left with is that plans changed pre- or during WoD (Dawn will live after all) then changed again during ItSoV (Dawn will die after all).

And, given the timing of Dawn's death? It correlates too neatly to the whining about her on Stratics hitting yet another high mark (though "loud" is the better term here) to be coincidental.

The plan from the very beginning was to bring her back, then kill her. They stuck to the plan. Did it happen how it was originally SUPPOSED to? No

But the fact is the same....they always had it planned to kill Dawn off. They never said how, they never said the exact storyline. It was a Focus group on their internal forums, but they still didn't want to give stuff away.
