Night Terror (A new monster?)

Ok I have a major question about a monster; “the Night Terror.”
I was in Ter-Mur hunting collecting harpsichord scrolls when I found the village in the south-southeast, inside the village I found the green blob looking monsters by the name of Night Terror. So I engaged one. Holy Cow!!!! The can’t be killed, I barely harmed them, I am a Mystic Thrower, even casting Raise Colossus and using my best imbued glave I barely hurt it, yet it has no issue killing players!!
So I checked around and could not find any reference to this beast anywhere. Can anyone tell me about it, how to defeat it, or is it just a bug in the game?

This was part of a Ter Mur-centric scenario they did awhile ago, before the "The Awakening" scenario.

Most people weren't quite aware it was going on as it was less of a scenario that it was a series of quests with a big EM-led but (seemingly) centrally planned event at the end. (The one where we got the deco reward "hand of the defiler.")

Some of the quests from that scenario are still active, I am not certain about all, though.

The UO Guide article on the scenario, called "Echoes of the Past," isn't of much help. No one was really much-inspired to write about it, I guess.

This was the first part of the quest: Ritual - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia . Before this quest went live (I documented it in TC1) I had to take a long break only to return on early February of this year, so I haven't seen the end of the Defiler or the second quest. When I left, we had a producer who was passionate about the new event cycle, and when I returned, much to my surprise, we had a new producer and a new event cycle and I had no clue on what had happened to the previous ones. Thus, the article about the Echoes of the Past contains two hastily written sentences for the first chapter. I have no idea what the chapter names might be, maybe Stirrings in the Dark for the first chapter. I pretty much learned about dividing the event cycles into chapters from your articles about the previous event cycles, which I tried to continue and I guess the devs adopt this with the Awakening but named them acts rather than chapters.

all 3 quests still work just fine and the night terror isn't that hard to kill if you know what you're doing - i've killed it a bunch of times

Just don´t let it teleport itself back to where its buddies hang out.

they fixed the teleporting thing.

i dropped one a while back after they fixed the teleporting bug, took a bit but wasnt that bad.
disco, 2 greater dragons and a lot of heals.
got a timed event item for the next part of the story line, think it was a heart (?)

i posted about it like 2 months ago.
but like mentioned above the whole arc fell to the wayside seemingly AS it was happening.
not to mention it was hard as heck to do, haha.

Thanks for the info. I go to that area a lot to gather music rolls. I'm normally on my Mystic thrower.

I'm wondering what the reward was for turning in the heart. I started the quest on one char, then went to go kill one of these night terrors only to find the char I started it with wasn't the best choice. I attempted to give the heart to the original char, but when u xfer it to another player it poofs. So was wondering if you managed to actually turn it in and get the reward and if the reward is worth the effort of killing them. Thanks!

There were 4 different quests that I can remember. The reward for them were Chronicles of The Gargoyle Queen (Volumes I, II and III) and the Ter Mur Snowglobe. I forget which came from which quest though.

I think quest 1 gives book 1, quest 2 gives book 2 and the globe and quest 3 gives book 3.

i know i missed it when it went live and i was kinda hankering to do it now but i have no idea where to start and get to the end of them all.

So this is a thread where I have seen a couple of peeps, mind you all not all of you, but a couple of peeps brag about killing a very hard to take down monster and saying you just gotta know how to do it, while most other posters have said how tough it is. Oh yeah right, I read it on the internet so it must be true!! This is a helluva monster to take down anybody tells ya different is running a program they shouldn't or lying!!

yup, they are nasty.
to make it even worse, the brain they give you for the next part of the quest is timed.
i think its a 24 hour one.
so you better block off a couple nights to you can do this and the next part all in a row, cause you dont wanna invest 6 hours into killing one of these to get the brain then not have time to use it...... like i did.

u need 2 or 3 people.....some claim to do it solo...alas they mean they have 3 accounts logged on doing it.....with 2 GDs etc and a xhealer/mage throwing EVS IN too or the like

solo Disco mystic can do it but takes quite awhile and a few runs to healers. Was able to kill one myself after they appeared but before the quest for them was active. so it wasted my quest item since timer ran out before quest fully activated.

Geez I won the books, any idea where or how the snowglobe quest starts ? Was that also with the Queen I think it was ?
