Nice detail: Same groundplan of the Abyss as in the year 1992

In another thread I was reminded of that by Brynthe. I actually found the old 'Ultima Underword - Stygian Abyss' in my cellar. The map of the first level is almost the same as the one of the new Underworld. This reminiscence is not only accurate according to the Ultima lore, it's also a nice bonus for all who actually played the old game. Can't wait to explore what you will have built in contentwise when you have finished your work. I really appreciate this. Thank you. :thumbsup:





BTW, I re-installed the game and played a bit. Pure nostalgia but the graphics really sucks nowadays. Even older than the 2D client. But not much. :p

That right there is why I refuse to replay any of the old Ultima's today lol. I like the memories of them and playing them again after all this time would destroy that for me I think lol.

I never played the Underworld games, but when I went down to the area that corresponds with the gargoyle world in Ultima 6, I spent an evening in utter AWE. I was SOOOOO wanting a revamp of 6 done in KR or SA level graphics after seeing that.

If/when I do get a netbook, I'm going to have to put U6 on it for old times sake... I'd do it on the desktop, but the game window is just too small and doesn't scale well to 17+ inch monitors anymore... but a 10-13in monitor would do nicely.

Between the map areas and the NPCs and quests being introduced, from an Ultima standpoint, SA is shaping up to be one of the if not the best expansion and the devs were right in saying that it is the most "Ultima" out of all of the UO expansions.

They actually seem to have put in a lot of detail and effort that no one's going to notice.
