Is there an ETA ?
There should be patches on a atleast 14 day cycle basis now !

LOL!

There has never be a reliable patch cycle in UO's history. What makes you think they would start now?

We're definitely NOT on a 14-day cycle, I can tell you that. We're still in the process of deciding whether we need to take extra time on some event stuff or break it up into two patches, but if we go with the latter option I believe we're about two weeks out from Test Center with this one.

Thx for answer

Imho its necessary to get out patches really on a regular basis now.
The improvements KR had over the last 9 month must in Future be on a 1-2 months basis or there wont be many left in a year or so to enjoy these improvements...

Then it would probly be cheaper to just have the legacy client and do only events for a playerbase getting smaller and smaller because of the lack of new subscribers...

The way the dev team is going atm is good ! , but there is no marign anymore for "slacks" of months of nothing happening, like it often happened.

Regular patch cycle? Sorry no.

The general creative process doesn't work well on a set schedule. Things get rushed out too soon or postponed to oblivion. It's better to patch when things are ready.

Sorry, yes.

As a customer I expect new content on a regular basis not once in a blue moon. Creativity seems to come quite readily when the threat of job loss is on the table - which would undoubtedly follow if UO continues to haemorrhage customers.

If we get to vote on it, I say break it up into two patches. I know I would rather see more smaller patches more often, than one very big patch with several weeks (or months) in between.

Multiple small patches are good because 1) We get to see new stuff, changes and updates more often, and I'm pretty sure EVERYONE likes getting updates, and 2) smaller patches are better to download, less wait time before playtime!

If we don't put it to a vote, can we just say I made a command decsion and do things my way

We use a 14 day release cycle (soon to be 7 day). It is not a matter of rushing untested code out, but rather a way to allow things that are finished to get into production instead of waiting forever to be scheduled because a bigger project is blocking up the release cycle. It does require some change in mindset by coders, testers, and management, but the overall effect can be very rewarding.

And........

3) It breaks the commonly used cheat proggy, if even only for a few hours.

4) It gives my modem something else to do.

I'm not really worried about a schedule for the Publishes and Events, however I DO agree with Belmarduk that KR needs to be on a bi weekly patch schedule.

There are still a lot of things that have been listed for the devs to fix, improve, rework, and so on with the KR client.

Oh I never meant to imply I thought more smaller patches would be easier (except maybe on the ol' dial up modulators/demodulators)... mostly I just want some (all of it) now

Heck i'd be hapy with a patch/publish that only fixes/adds one thing at a time, as long as we got one every week (preferably early thursday)

as for 'effect' (and it's cause) I realize that some things have to come in order or maybe grouped.... I just want a little something in the between times

I make custom cabinets and furniture for a living and have earned most of my business by taking the time to make sure the job is done right the first time, so I or my customer dosnt have to pay to my employees the cost of doing it right the 2nd time. like all patches/fixes,addons,publishes we get I expect them to take the time to have them done right the first time.

And my Opinion is close 2D yesterday instead of tommorow - it is an old outdated, buggy, horrible looking weight which is holding the development on a new client back.

If KR went I would be gone immediantley - without old 3D I would have NO playable client.

We DO want improvement.

I LIKE having a client that looks a bit more graphically up to date than Final Fantasy 6 or Ultima 8 (which while good in their time graphically, are VERY limited now).

I LIKE having a client that can scale to the monitor resolution I use without having a tiny game window or UI elements.

I LIKE being able to put all of my stacked resources into a single secure container WITHOUT the need for sub containers AND being able to keep them nicely organized (PLUS not having to overlap them in any way).

I LIKE having a UI that's expandable in form and function both by the devs and OUTSIDE the patch schedule by intrepid players willing to work with the xml/lua files.

I LIKE the functionality of the hotbars.

I LIKE the effects in the KR client that bring life to the world.

We WANT KR because we see it as one of the steps necessary to keep UO viable (NOT the only step, but a step nonetheless).

Why do SOME PEOPLE NOT want the rest of us to have KR?
